Meow after spay

Has anyone noticed a change in their cats meow after being spayed / nutured? I had my lady done about 3 weeks ago and the volume of her meow is so much quieter now. I didn't expect it and I'm just curious is this a thing?

It's not something I've experienced with any of mine, but since spaying changes hormones etc I can't see why it wouldn't be possible to have an effect.

Was her miaow was always loud before, or is it very quiet now?
I wonder if it could have been a result of her being in heat before being spayed (although you'd probably know if that was the case!), or if maybe she feels a bit peaky right now and her miaow might "recover"?

I think they intubate them.

Oh - good point! One of mine had a cough for a few days after her spay, so perhaps your Dcat has a bit of an irritated/sore throat?

Showing my age horribly but...

This thread reminded me of the Barron Knights David Bowie parody. 'Birth Control to Ginger Tom' specifically the line 'Your miaow is higher since you’ve had it done.'

Mine became a bit more feisty afterwards, and she put on weight too - considerably so. She's not fat but she was absolutely tiny beforehand and she really isn't anymore Grin
