Flea and Wormer

I wanted to sort a new flea and wormer for Dcat. Ddog has just moved from bravecto to Billy no mates due to a possible (and scary) reaction to bravecto.
Dcat hates spot on treatment and behaves like we are trying to kill her every time it's applied, but we have been using it for several years. Are there any other options?
What works for your cat?

Our lad can be a drama llama with flea stuff! Not tried any non spot on ones. We did use Advocate for a time but went back to Stronghold as there's less liquid in the tube. Last couple of times I've attempted warming it up and apply it when his face is in his food bowl (he is a greedy cat).

Yes are aware the Billy no mates is not a flea treatment? There is no evidence behind it and it isn’t a licensed veterinary medicine?

Yes. Billy No Mates is a bit of an experiment, but it has good reviews. I will still need to worm Ddog, but her reaction to bravecto (diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy) has put me off using cat version. Thought it was a good time to consider the options.

Is Stronghold prescription? I will look into it.

Stronghold is prescription only.

Thanks. I am not sure if the vet will do a prescription without seeing and weighing her, as she hasn't been for a while. Are the non prescription ones largely ineffective?

I just bought frontline+ at petsmart for dcat. Instead of her going mental like I was trying to put some kind of nuclear substance on the back of her neck, she was fine! I don’t know if it’s because it was at room temperature and it’s warm these days or because it doesn’t smell, or because there is way less liquid than there used to be (i stockpiled original frontline years ago and have now used it all up) but I’m a happy camper!

Ah. That could be a problem then, if it's within a year you may be ok.
Advantage is a spot on you can buy without a prescription which works. It doesn't treat any worms which the others do.

At the moment if you are able to weigh at home we are able to prescribe on the basis of a phone consult.
Products to consider for dog Nexgard and Nexgard spectra, simparica and seresto( not prescription, but their has been a surge of fake and dangerous products on line).
For the cat Broadland, prinovox, advocate and stronghold plus.
