Window Nets/Safety?

Hi all, hoping you can help me please.
I’ve a cat who currently is an indoor cat - we’ve not long moved house and I don’t feel comfortable letting her out yet because if she wanders off we wouldn’t really be able to go and look for her. She’s pretty happy with this as she was a house cat previously and there are plenty of warm comfy spots for her.
The issue I’m having is that now the weather is warmer I’ve been opening my windows, and she seems incredibly interested in them and I’m wondering if there’s such a thing as a window net or something which would provide some safety for her should she decide to try and jump up at them?
The reason I’m so twitchy about it is that before she came to live with me she jumped out of an upper storey window and ended up having to have one of her back legs amputated and I’m really concerned about her doing similar. You’d think that she would have learnt her lesson but it doesn’t appear so! I don’t want to have to have my windows closed all the time, and equally don’t really want to restrict access to rooms for her.
Once the lockdown has been lifted I’m happy to let her out so hopefully this won’t be a problem then, I’m just nervous about losing her and not being able to go and look for her.
Any advice or ideas very welcome!

Here's a link to Flat Cats, I have them as I have indoor cats. They are surprisingly unobtrusive from the outside - a neighbour started to panic as she thought I'd left the window open and didn't even notice the screens .

When I first got them, Girlcat had a few determined efforts to remove it and failed miserably. She now just sits in the window imperiously and accepts any visitors who come to pay their respects.

Added bonus - the mesh is small enough to prevent the ingress of larger insects, but does let a breeze into the house. I LOVE mine.

I've made some wooden frames with chicken wire across them. They slot in behind little brackets when the windows are open.

Flat Cats are the way to go. They last years as well.

Ooh I was thinking of getting some child proof window locks to stop my overload from leaping out of the window but they look better .thanks for the info

I rigged something similar to flat cats until Ern was able to go out

Don't know if that would work now as he loves Velcro, tries to eat it and can manage to pull the blackout blind off I've velcroed yo the window frame

I've only just started letting him into our bedroom when the window is open and he sits with his head partially out

We recently bought some inexpensive thin stick on mesh from Ebay. Designed as a fly screen but we took it down because it stopped our cats being ABLE to go in and out the windows!

Aldi or Lidl used to sell the DIY flyscreens. The black one wasn't visible outdoors (we had sash windows).

Admittedly old cat could just go out through the cat flap, but it stopped him sitting out on the big window ledge.
