GPS Trackers for cats?

I have 3 feline overlords, 1 of which loves to wander. We adopted him when he was 18 months old and he was un-neutered and wild! He is now 11 and we had him done as soon as we got him but he still likes to roam.
He was missing for 2 weeks in October, and came back a week ago from a week long jaunt.
I am thinking of a GPS tracker, has anyone had any luck with one?

I’ve got no personal experience but I follow Rolf the Warwick University Cat on Twitter. He kept on walking to the campus from his house (a couple of miles I think) and his overlords got him one. He has Pawtrack:

I think the main barrier would be that the cat needs to wear a collar. I have a friend who would definitely pay vast amounts to see what her cat gets up to but he won’t wear a collar. Rolf puts up with a hi vis jacket too after an accident which thankfully wasn’t fatal but did mean he was in a cage for weeks.
