Muddy cat paws !

Have 2 cats and they are slowly sending me crazy with their muddy paws everywhere ! Any obvious way I'm missing to help this problem or ease it a bit at least ? Thanks!

An absorbent mat that they (hopefully) tread on as they come in; the jml magic carpet ones saved my sanity and my furniture, I was surprised just how much dirt and moisture they removed from kitty paws.

In wet weather throw a big towel down by the cat flap.
