Natural flea treatment needed

Cat (rescued, neutered male) is an outdoor cat and picks up fleas. He is allergic to their bites and becomes all scabby so we have to keep on top of his flea treatment. He hates the one the vet has given us. it’s in a little squeeze tube and it smells really strongly. He struggles and fights as soon as you get near him and the best we can do is get it on his fur, not his skin so ineffective. Other option is injections but again, he hates the vets and fights (he’s a big, strong cat) and they have to put him in a crush cage to administer the injection which really stresses him.
What can we use that doesn’t smell awful and which he will let us apply?

Which spot on do you use? We used Stronghold on previous cat and current beast. Our vets stopped stocking Stronghold (thank you Medivet purchase...) so we had 3 months of Advocate which has a lot of liquid in the vial!!!! The vet now gives us a prescription for Stronghold which is less to apply than the Advocate. He still makes a fuss but gets over it quicker.

There are no effective natural flea treatments, you’ll need a prescription tablet you can crush in food.

One of my cats is allergic to flea's, makes all his fur out and he looks so raggedy from it Sad

I have spent a lot on different flea treatments for him and the best one i came across was Program Suspension for Cats. Its £30/35 for 6 tubes so if you have one cat they will last 6 months,

I put them in tuna food for the cats as the smell hides the smell.

There is no Bravecto tablet for cats, however, there is Bravecto spot on that lasts three months so you have to do the hated job less often.
