How to get slime out of cat fur?

DD left a ball of slime on windowsill. Cat apparently parked his arse on it. He looks like he's shitting a blue sparkly alien.

How do I remove the slime without distressing him?

DS put huge blob of slime in DD's long hair. It washed out with just warm water and a shampoo. Didn't even need oil, which was advised by Google.

A quick comb through and a wet wipe?

Sorry Op but the thought of a cat with a blue sparkly backside is hilarious!

Well... thanks for the suggestions! We wet wiped, combed, oiled, shampooed...

We ended up having to carefully trim the remainder out. He no longer has a blue attachment, but he has a bit of a draughty bumhole and smells like a boutique spa.

Yeah, he's a big ol' softy! We gave him special cat pate food afterwards so we're marginally forgiven.

He might be giving me the silent treatment, though.
