Onwards and upwards for the denizens of the Litter Tray. Best of luck to all job-hunting, cat-mourning, Paws-swiping posters. I can't do a proper link to the old thread.

New boy cat arrives on Friday, a one-year old tabby boy currently under the moniker of "Bobby". I don't have a proper picture yet.

Hellooo! My 3 little shits spent most of last week refusing to eat and with me trying to tempt them with all sorts of things. Took them to the vet who pronounced them perfectly healthy stroppy little divas and suggested I properly starve them into submission.

They are eating again now but I think I have aged from the worry 😂😂😂

@swampytiggaa

You're gonna need a bigger box!

Cats are little shots for ignoring their food. I have one trying that trick on me at the moment. There's nothing wrong with him, he'll happily eat the other cat's food. I'm ignoring his wails of fake distress. Send some earplugs.

Well I feel like shit. I've got a cold, a sore throat, headache and hot & cold flushes. So where am I?

Stomping through fucking mud because Leroy does not give a shit.

Hi there all! Pepper is beautiful, as are the Three Musketeers.

Little K has learned to appear for meals whenever I move a muscle.

Glad your first day went well, Justoneday.
I can’t imagine the logistics of taking three kitties to the vet together, Swampy. I needed an extra pair of hands when I took just one!

Peppers a beauty, I’m glad they didn’t take her.

Thank you for the thread Long.

Let’s hope for some happy events on this thread.

Thanks for the new thread.

I put my Christmas tree up early in an attempt to cheer myself up. The daft cats are currently play fighting underneath it.

Needs some advice, wise ladies of the litter tray.
I’ve seen Socks go to her litter tray twice in the last couple of days and produced either nothing or only done a spot. Both times she’s got out and immediately started to lick her bits which makes me wonder if they’re stinging.
Ive Googled the symptoms of a UTI but it seems inconclusive. She’s not crying out in pain, and I’m presuming she does manage to produce more than a spot when
I’m not watching.
She’s played an energetic game of hide and seek with Matt tonight and she’s eating well, although possibly off her food a tiny bit compared to normal.
There’s always water down but I rarely see her drink any. I might try her with a little milk - at least I’ll know she’s had some fluid.
To vet tomorrow or not?

Vets. Poor socks. You can mix water in her wet food too.

Definitely vets. It might be a UTI it might be nothing, it might be something else.

Give her a little cuddle from me and a nose boop from (long term UTI suffering) Leroy •

@Papergirl1968 I’d definitely go to the vets tomorrow to be safe 💕

Getting mine in the carrier was a 2 person job... tipped it on its end then forced them in and quickly put the door on 😂😂😂 they were most annoyed 😂😂😂

It was so much easier when they were this size 💕

That sounds like a UTI alright.

Vets it is then.
How do they diagnose a UTI?

swampytiggaa · 25/11/2019 21:04

Wouldn’t fancy getting a wee sample from a cat 😂😂😂

YesItsMeIDontCare · 25/11/2019 21:07

Clean shallow tray, plastic "grit", a long pipette, a sample tube... and a hell of a lot of patience. Those buggers can hold it in for bloody days!

TCN used to say leave the cat in a room with an empty tray.

Papergirl1968 · 25/11/2019 22:08

Oh god. Where do you get this plastic grit from, Yes?

Report

Or hold an egg cup under her when she wees.
