Lucky little kittens

These are my latest foster kittens. They were found in a skip this morning. One of them was so cold his temperature didn’t register on the thermometer. All that was needed was a phone call, a text or a message and we would have picked them up, why put them in a skip to die instead?

What is wrong with people? Angry How old do you think they are?

Ooh cuteness.

Abandoned in a skip...seriously who thinks that’s ok. 😿

Seven weeks or there abouts, they are the cutest little things. Very quiet at the moment, just curled up together.

Sad

I did wonder for a nanosecond if the Mum cat (if she was feral) had put them in thinking it was safe and undercover ? To come back later for them?

But sadly it is likely they were dumped Angry

How difficult would it have been to take them somewhere?

Beautiful baby cats.
Our DSCat was found in a bin age 6 weeks. He’s now 8 and a very fine figure of a cat. Hope they find lovely homes like our Toffee boy 😻

@chemenger: RESPECT to you for taking them in. Not surprised they are quiet - poor little mites must be in deep shock.

If I were Omnipotent/The Ruling Overlord/knew the sort of blokes who do things which are not legal, would I get banned from MN for wanting to take the miserable little sh*t who did this, bung them in a skip and ensure they could not get any shelter, food or water during a freezing cold night?

After losing a beloved elderly dog recently, Himself refuses any more animals until his heart has stopped hurting quite so much. I get that . . . but wish I could offer a home, even though I cannot.

If they were feral you’d know it by 7 weeks. If they are happy to be handled then they aren’t feral. Which is worse somehow as it means someone did dump them.

They are beautiful, a little ginger and a long haired tabby, easy to find homes for when the time comes.

Oh I really hope someone takes them together.
I have 2 'pairs' couldn't bear the thought of them missing their litter mate.

It's so sad! I follow a fb page for a cat rescue and they seem overrun by dumped kittens!

Lots of "found in a box outside our shelter" as well as feral cats, makes me so sad that people do not spray their cats. Imagine letting your pet go through labour then taking the kittens and dumping them?

These are the sorts of people who had SnoreCat and neglected him. He wasn’t neutered, if he was female he’d have had a litter of kittens.

How could anybody look at those little furry faces and be mean to them? So adorable. What is wrong with some people?

Our cats were castrated at the RSPCA for something like £20?! I can't remember exactly but it was cheap.

Really sad people will not pay this

Lucky kittens! Our little cat was found at the dump in a cardboard box all covered in masking tape! She knows she is lucky!

Cunts. I'd like the person that did it to experience more than just being left in a skip with no food or shelter. Lucky little kittens.

The father of a school friend of mine found one tied to a tree with a makeshift string collar years ago. Obviously left to die as it was off the footpath in woods in the middle of nowhere on a freezing winter night. And he only found it because his dog noticed it. He checked as much as possible for any more, and again next day in the light but fortunately there wasn't any evidence of more. Naturally he took it home 'just for the night' and they had it another 19yrs.

Bless them, I hope they recover and find wonderful caring forever homes.

No excuse whatsoever of course for dumping them in a skip where they would most likely die (and I have sent very bad karma thoughts out for the dumpee) but some areas just dont have rescues ready able to help or respond to a call or a text. The comment about cats left outside a shelter in a box has made me think at least those dumpees are attempting to leave in a safer place (still no excuse and I recognise the dangers to the poor cats in doing that). I have been trying to since summer to find homes or a rescue for three cats abandoned in an alleyway near me and its proving an impossible task. There are a few empty houses and I think their people moved and left them behind. Most of the time I curse the former owners for abandoning them but occasionally (usually after another round of phoning the rescues) I wonder if they tried to rehome and just couldnt find that help.

There are now also kittens and a young mum cat currently living in a shed in a garden down the same road, doesn't appear the house owners are looking out for them. It breaks my heart but I can't get too involved this time beyond leaving a dish of biscuits nearby each evening. I've phoned the RSPCA several times but nothing seems to be happening. I know rescues can't magic up spaces but my area seems to be especially bad.

Quite possibly female. It certainly wasn't intended to be found, just to die from hypothermia or predators. It wasn't long after Xmas so at the time the suspicion was an unwanted present. The dog was only being walked there because it's usual route was too icy for a person to walk to. No possibility it was some desperate person that knew it was a family of animal lovers and they'd left it minutes before to be found by him. Certain there wouldn't have been anyone about waiting to watch it die because their dog would have given it away.

Well, they’re still with us, I must admit I was slightly worried going in to them this morning. They haven’t stirred out of their carrier, they are cosy in there with blankets and we have covered it up to make a cave for them. They’re looking brighter and more awake today and they are soooooo sweet snuggled up together. They haven’t eaten but I think yesterday was probably so overwhelming that they just need peace. I will start to worry if we can’t tempt them to eat this morning, although they did eat at the vets yesterday. I will get a better picture to day but it’s dark in their carrier and obviously I’m not going to use flash. Any advice @catneuterer?
