Cat fight wound treatment?

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice. What would you say the treatment is for cat bite and scratch wounds?

Last night my Tom cat was in a fight. He’s been in a fight before and they shaved his fur where the bites were and we had to bathe it with salt water. He was also given antibiotics.

This time, I took him today and they gave him antibiotics but didn’t shave him, as they said he was too stressed and no need to bathe him.

I don’t understand this, as he was bleeding from the wounds.

Should I go back and insist that he gets shaved?

If the vet thought it would cause him too much stress then maybe let him rest at home where he's more comfortable than have to drag him out in the car again causing more stress.
You could always use cooled boiled water with some salt in to gently clean the areas yourself to prevent infection to the wounds but if he's already had antibiotics and the vet wasn't concerned he should be ok just keep an eye on him.

Keep an eye on the wound to make sure it is clean. I wouldn't put anything other than water on it (using damp cotton wool) and only if necessary.
