Help I desperately need a cat friendly holiday

Since my husband dumped me and went off 4 years ago (now divorced) I've not had one single day off work or holiday/annual leave days, up until recently I've worked 6 days a week, now it's alternate Saturdays in order to pay the mortgage and bills on my own.
I'm almost 60 and I'm absolutely fucked. Also partially disabled and have regular painful flare ups of osteoarthritis.
I've realised I can't go on like this and I've sold my lovely home. I'm moving to a much cheaper county four hours drive away where I can get a beautiful home I can afford amongst lots of lovely countryside, I am going back into a 9-5 NHS job I can do easily sitting down so I'll finally have weekends off.
The move on my own is a nightmare but I'm getting there.
Trouble is there is still the cat. The main reason I can't go anywhere is because of my 18 year old diabetic cat, she has two other conditions as well and has daily injections and pills and needs a lot of care and work.
She is nowhere near needing to be PTS as she is happy and still loves going out, playing with her toys and having big cuddles.
Nobody can give her meds without being badly bitten, all the vets at the surgery and nurses have tried, she will only let me near her as she was feral so cat sitter or cattery is out of the question and I would never forgive myself if she died and I was on holiday.
I've got to have a break or I'll drop, I'm wondering if there is anywhere I can go with my cat? I'd have to take her out on a lead but she is ok travelling as long as she is with me.
Children friendly holidays not suitable, she is scared of people and gets very aggressive.
Anyone taken their cat away?

I haven’t personally but I have seen people camping with pet cats in tow!

How about a cottage? There's some cat friendly ones in Pembrokeshire here

In my experience self-catering cottages in the UK that allow dogs have been fine about accommodating a cat instead, especially if you explain the cat is elderly and sleeps a lot.

Cat is elderly and bites a lot lol. Thank you I'll take a look at that :-)

My cattery is run by a vet and they will give medication and injections etc. Try looking around for one.

Done vets may also do boarding for ill cats.

As @SandunesAndRainclouds mentioned, camping may be an option. My DP recently went to a few sites and saw a lot of cats in caravans or on harnesses attached to the awnings.

I'd like to take my cat away but she's too badly behaved to be trusted in a cottage.

I'm guessing if the OP is on her own and has osteoarthritis flare ups and is in her 60s and partially disAbled. she may not be looking at camping.

OP, there are definitely options.

I recently took my cat and dog to an AirBnB. Listing said dog-friendly so I got in touch with the host and she was very happy to have me bring the cat also.

Is there no chance of a holiday at home planning a trip out each day? Sounds like you’ve been working so many days that you may not even have had a chance to explore where you live?

I’ve taken my cat to a cottage in Wales. I used holidaycottages.co.uk and their staff were incredibly helpful in contacting owners of the cottages we were interested in would be happy for us to bring a cat rather than a dog. It meant when we booked we had to book for 1 dog and then in the breed box I was told to put “cat” which made me Grin.

I’ve taken my cat to holiday cottages a few times with no issues Smile. Some places only ask for number of pets, and if so I haven’t always mentioned that he’s not a dog!

I like the holiday at home idea, especially if you’re moving to a new area. We’re all guilty of not seeing the local attractions on our doorstep.

Go to a museum/other attraction, have a nice lunch then back home to the cat, good book and a takeaway.

Well it turns out that my new job starting date in the west country is slightly later than I thought so I'll have two weeks off before starting work. I rung them yesterday.
I have actually found a place to rent short term (up to 6 months) while I buy a house, it's a holiday park by a great big lake and really nice.
The rental is a one bedroom modern holiday chalet with a balcony so joy of joys I have inadvertently found a 2 week holiday/short term let.
They are happy for me to bring my cat as they have had trouble renting the place out this year.
Thanks for all your great advice.
