Since my husband dumped me and went off 4 years ago (now divorced) I've not had one single day off work or holiday/annual leave days, up until recently I've worked 6 days a week, now it's alternate Saturdays in order to pay the mortgage and bills on my own.
I'm almost 60 and I'm absolutely fucked. Also partially disabled and have regular painful flare ups of osteoarthritis.
I've realised I can't go on like this and I've sold my lovely home. I'm moving to a much cheaper county four hours drive away where I can get a beautiful home I can afford amongst lots of lovely countryside, I am going back into a 9-5 NHS job I can do easily sitting down so I'll finally have weekends off.
The move on my own is a nightmare but I'm getting there.
Trouble is there is still the cat. The main reason I can't go anywhere is because of my 18 year old diabetic cat, she has two other conditions as well and has daily injections and pills and needs a lot of care and work.
She is nowhere near needing to be PTS as she is happy and still loves going out, playing with her toys and having big cuddles.
Nobody can give her meds without being badly bitten, all the vets at the surgery and nurses have tried, she will only let me near her as she was feral so cat sitter or cattery is out of the question and I would never forgive myself if she died and I was on holiday.
I've got to have a break or I'll drop, I'm wondering if there is anywhere I can go with my cat? I'd have to take her out on a lead but she is ok travelling as long as she is with me.
Children friendly holidays not suitable, she is scared of people and gets very aggressive.
Anyone taken their cat away?
