The litter tray

Is anyone else not allowed to have a bath without a cat in the room?

Or is it just me? Grin

It’s like the taps going on is a secret summons to the bathroom where they both have to watch over me in case I drown! One sits on the side of the bath (I’m waiting for the day she falls in Grin) and the other one oversees things from the towel shelf. They aren’t generally clingy cats so I don’t get it!

My lovely girl (sadly now deceased) used to sit on the side of the bath and chat to me, then climb onto my neck/chest above the water line and fall asleep. I'd lie in the cooling water not wanting to disturb her until I was freezing cold. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour, looking back, but I was completely under her furry little thumb.

How did you extract yourself from underneath her without accidentally creating a kitty spa? Grin

Grin with enormous difficulty and over a long period of time! If I could I used to take the plug out with my foot first so there was no water left before I woke her. Now I read this back I see how utterly crazy it was!

Yes mine all love it at bath time. One of them in particular likes to drink the water which we think is weird. Another sometimes does this but is mainly there to be stroked with a wet hand. The third is a hall raiser in general so will just whack the others when they are doing weird things like drinking the water then try and look innocent and not fall in herself.

Gorgeous kitty!

@Cynara as a kitten mine used to curl up on my chest with her tail and bum in the water! And fall asleep purring Grin I miss her!

Yes threeago used to sleep on the island that was my belly - occasionally dipping his paw into the water and licking it dry or stalk round trying to land safely/dry on me

After an extensive and thorough survey dkitten has established that the champagne equivalent of drinking water can be found in the shower tray after the shower has been used. The fresh water in their bowls can never compare to the soapy, stagnant pools that reside in the shower tray Hmm

Privacy in the bathroom????
A locked door having a bath? You have got to be joking I would not have a hall carpet left.

Ours likes to come in the bathroom post bath or shower. As soon as shower goes off or water goes down plughole he's at the door. The reason? He loves to get on laps when you have a towel wrapped around you, the purring is something else and he is on heaven.

This is my bathcat. She is not amused to be left behind

One of mine sits on the bath mat while I'm in the shower, and - once I've got out - nips into the shower to lick water/condensation off the tiles. Weird.

This is Cheddar every time I have a bath or a shower. She has a lot to say on the matter!

Op - lovely cat. What would happen if you closed the door (and locked if your cat can open it)?

My dog does this, and also bursts into the room every time I go to the loo (I shut the door but don't lock it). I think it's hilarious. But now I really want a cat who will watch over me from the bathroom shelf, or sit lovingly on my chest while I have a bath. Where can I get one????????

We don't have a bath, but we do have a cat that likes to join you when you have a poo Envy she's particularly fond of DHs bathroom time and will sit and scratch at the locked door if he's dared to shut her out 😂

She also licks the floor after we've showered Confused

Mine likes to drink from the sink faucett while I am in the shower. (Yes, both running at the same time). He then helpfully waits for me on the bathmat, while I am attempting to get out of the shower without tripping over him. He too, loves drinking the soapy leftover shower water.

If he is feeling particularly festive, he may poop on the bathmat while I am showering.

The thread that cheersGrin
One of my cats insists on coming into the bathroom when I run the bath. If I decide I'm bathing solo she meows non stop, really heart breaking.
She also likes to walk on my just washed hall floor.
Loves when I've showered and wrapped in the towel as previous poster has said.. she can't get enough of me.
Boy cat = no interest whatsoever.

Luna-von-Tuna used to walk up and down the edge of the bath, but there was a slipping incident and she's not risking getting wet again. She now stands up next to the bath and "brrrrs" at me (her strange version of miaowing).

I only have showers, so dont have that problem

However, I'm not allowed to pee without the cat in the bathroom. Apparently if she is not there to supervise my weeing, I may fall down the toilet.

Unfortunately I do not have a picture of my own cat, but this is an accurate representation of what happens when I close the door Grin

Mine just stands outside screaming which I think is along the lines of "you daft? You drowning! Human! Wet stuff! Get out"

I can't do anything without the cat in the room. I wait for him to fall asleep then sneak out to get on with my life 😁.

@YesQueen I think that is exactly what Cheddar says to me.

If I shut the door they wait for me on the landing outside. I don’t tend to though because one of the litter trays is in there and before she was diagnosed with hyperesthesia and medicated she was doing protest poos on our rugs so I try not to limit her options!

Love the paw under the door Grin

I used to get the paw under the door if I dared to shut the toilet door with my last cat on the other side of it. I used to let her in, it was less stressful! She'd also often come in for a nosy if I was in the bath - she'd jump up on the side and walk around, try to fish my toes out of the water or grab the plug chain.

My mother 'fondly' recalls the day she was trying to have a nice relaxing bath, but due to my cat walking around the bath-tub (and my mother worried she'd fall in) and my rabbit stealing her bath towel failed miserably!

Mine won’t come in. He just sits outside the door till I come out 😂
