The litter tray

Non-spill water bowls

My Russian Blue cross loves to tip water bowls. When we had bowls on the floor on a mat he would stuff his paws under the mat and tip them over. When we removed the mat, he would overturn the bowls themselves. We currently use this overnight: www.petplanet.co.uk/product_review.asp?dept_id=321&pf_id=8597 as at least when he runs into the bowls the water is mostly contained in the tray, but he has recently started tipping the tray itself.

Does anyone have any recommendations for non-tippable water bowls?

Have you considered a water fountain? Our Shittens upend their food bowls but the water fountain seems to get ignored as its too heavy to tip over, added benefit is they drink more from a fountain than a bowl.

Have you thought about one of those baby bowls? My sister has one for my niece. They have a suction bit that sucks to the floor (or the high chair in my nieces case!) then the bowl clicks to the bit sucked to the floor. I'll see if I can find a link.

He wouldn't be able to get his paw under a ceramic one that's flush to the floor, would he? As in, wider at the bottom than at the top?

Cats really are hilariously dopey, aren't they - no foresight at all Grin

I've used those baby weaning bowls with suction pads. It works a treat.

@showmethegin that's what I used.

Glad they've been tested out. Thought they may work. My cat will only drink water out of a very particular pint glass we have to leave next to the fireplace 🙄

Mine drink out of glasses and cups as well. Fortunately they don't knock them over

My very spoilt cat has a Emma Bridgewater pet bowl for his water. It's heavy and no way it can be tipped over.

We have metal bowls in a sort of wire stand for both water & biscuits but I think a determined cat could easily flip the whole thing over Grin

Large heavy pot dish (dog bowl) sounds like the best idea

Ours is similar to this but squarer. The bowls here are pot though so the whole thing would be heavier. Might be worth a try...
