She's just stalked out of the room in a full blown feline strop!

The last few nights, I've got up to feed the baby and found our cat sat in my place on the sofa. This is irritating as it's all set up for me to breastfeed easily - bottle of water, couple if muslins, box of tissues (hay fever), cushion for my back and of course phone for scrolling through MN. I have been gently moving her each time (juggling a hungry wriggling baby), only to find her sat right back in the same place in time for the next feed. More than a tad irritating. Husband's response has been "it's because she loves you, she wants to be close to your smell, you can't fuss her as much since the baby came." I figured she was doing it on purpose.

So before I went to bed, I set up my husband's side of the sofa with all my stuff. Came into the living room 5 minutes ago and cat is right there in my usual seat, smirking. I smile back and sit down in husband's seat, stroke cat and start feeding baby. 2 minutes later, cat gets up, shoots me an evil look and out she goes!

I know it's petty, but I feel victorious and vindicated!

You may have won the battle but you will never win the war.

Last time I outwittted my cat he was fine for several days. Then I kept waking up in the middle of the night to find him standing on my chest, his face about 1cm from mine, as soon as I open my eyes he turns around and sits directly on my face. Prick.

Cats are nobs. Last night our's kept climbing on the table to get the welsh cakes, DP told him off and then moved the welsh cakes, the cat shouted at him and stalked off (We came back form holiday yesterday he is so pissed off with us for abandoning him, despite my mum and sister coming in to feed and fuss him)

You are very ungrateful. She was simply warming your seat for you...
Maybe take her attitude as a purrsonal verbal warning?
Another strike and you face dismissal as a dcat slave.

She's definitely plotting something, she's been looking at me in a very calculating way all day...

My husband says his money is on the cat 😂

Awww. She clever girl.

Reminds me of an incident that occurred with our boys. Daddy was sitting at the computer and Gatsby hopped into his lap. Biggie was extremely affronted because that is HIS Daddy and only HE is supposed to sit in Daddy's lap.

Biggie: Want sit on Daddy, please! Walks around Daddy nudging him and trying to hop on his lap, without success.

Gatsby: This nice lap. I love Daddy. Snuggling and purring for Daddy and enjoying some attention.

Biggie: FINE! Walks off in a huff and settles down on the floor, glaring at Gatsby.

Finally, Biggie decided that Mum's lap was an acceptable compromise and he hopped into MY lap and started purring.

Oh OP. I’m glad you posted again just now. I was worried your cat had offed you and buried you in her litter.

A family friend had a sleek leggy black dcat called Leroy, if ff was late home he would stand at her feet and poo!!
Very vocal boy and relocated to Germany when ff went back home. Bet he didn't travel quietly!

A colleague of mine had a large cat who she referred to as Monster Kitty. Whenever she had tuna she would give him the water and always include a small amount of tuna for him. One time she gave him the water only, no tuna.

He proceeded to do a poo in the tumble dryer later Grin

Placemarking for when your cat steals your credit card to order things on Amazon in revenge.

Poor cat is now confused as to how large she is. Last night she was sat in the middle of the sofa and seemed to be under the impression that she was covering both seats 😂 When I sat down next to her and started feeding the baby, she looked at me with such a pathetic expression! Luckily baby was feeding on the opposite side so I gave the cat lots of fuss and snuggles. Hopefully that will get her to cancel the amazon orders...
