The litter tray

Bloody stupid cat - and it's not even Boycat!

I was topping up my e-cig, and the tiny little rubber seal by the coil pinged off. Girlcat promptly left her supper & pounced on it and I think ate it! Shock

Luckily she promptly threw up voluminously over the floor, so the chances of her ingesting any nicotine are tiny & even if she did swallow the seal it would only have had a miniscule amount on it in the first place. But I think I'm going to have to go through the vomit (yeuch) to see if I can find the seal, then watch her closely for the next few hours.

She's supposed to be the smart one!

Oh dear, was it quickly vomited?

Seconds - but I didn't find it after forensically going through the semi-liquid vomit she left me. There's a 50/50 change it pinged somewhere else and is hiding under something tbh, and the threw up because of the shock at me yelling as she went to dive on it.

She's sitting under my bed at the mo, looking indignant. I will probably have to crawl under there myself tomorrow to check for more vomit, which my leg and back really won't appreciate.

I'll go up & check on her every 15 mins or so, apparently nicotine poisoning shows within 15-60 mins. Then watch her poo for the next few days, in case this tiny little thing gets passed. And of course watch her like a hawk for any signs of something causing a blockage of course!

What a nightmare, you won’t sleep well tonight.

Oh BUM, Allergic, that's really annoying. But you'll notice pretty quick if she'd poisoned herself, which is a relief.

If worst comes to worst ring vet and ask them to scan Girlcat - not to be indelicate, but cat craps are pretty hefty - how big is the seal? She'll prob just pass something naturally if it's small.

Well she's wandered down & lay on the back of the sofa for 5 mins, then wandered upstairs again. I think sh'es sulking because I only scritched her for a few seconds then sat next to Boycat.

Ah no, she was in the kitchen, just came scuttling out with bushy tail being chased by Boycat. Gone to eat cat grass now, probably the best thing for her poor love.

Cat grass always a winner. Is it a small flexible hollow ring type rubber seal about 1/2 in wide and thin? I wouldn't worry about that.

Seal is literally around 4-5mm across, with a hole in the middle, and about 1-1.5mm deep. Artificial rubbery thing

Sits round the base of the post covering the wicks.

She's now rummaging around the junk on the study floor as noisily as she can, to get my attention, and scratching a plastic bag as she knows I can hear that Grin. So no signs of unusual behaviour yet (well not unusual for her).

I reckon that will leave the building with 0 trouble. Well done on the e-cig.

I poisoned myself once on nicotine liquid from Poundland. it manifests rapidly.

It was one of my personal conditions to getting cats in the first place - change tobacco for e-cigs. Wasn't going to submit furry things to my filthy addiction.

She's back upstairs, having filled up the void in her stomach left by losing her dinner.

Quick update - Girlcat seems absolutely fine & normal this morning. Food has been absolutely hammered over night, and she was acting starved this morning. No more signs of vomit.

Not sure - can't face the litter tray first thing, need at least 3 Brew inside me first!

Is there an update? How are you all?

Report
Allergictoironing · 04/06/2019 14:05

Didn't forensically examine the poo. All seems absolutely normal - she's done her "mum strokes NOW!", "mum feed me NOW!" and "get your mitts off me, I want to sit and stare at you but NOT be touched" usual morning things, then gone upstairs to her comfiest wardrobe bottom sleeping place.

I'll just keep an eye out for her eating & pooing normally for the next couple of days, luckily you can tell the difference in circumference between hers and Boycat's poo.

Fine update. I reckon it will come out without drama.

Well, that's the poo troll's fun over for the day!

I'm sure she'll be fine. I hope that you find the coil thingy.

Don't give a flying one about the seal - whole coil costs me less than a quid & it's a non-essential interchangeable part.

I should point out I do have plenty of exam gloves, so it's more the texture through them than any chance of getting yuk on me.
