The litter tray

Neighbour’s cat spraying my washing line

Just seen my neighbour’s cat having a good old spray on my washing line - luckily there is just an old bike cover on it at the moment, but I hang my washing out!!

How can I put him off?!

Pleading bump

Chased him off again an hour ago but I can’t sit and watch my washing line!

Peppermint oil is supposed to be a deterrent, but its not his nose you want to target, I'm guessing..

I love cats but I would soak him with the water hose.

I was just about to ask, do you have a hose or handheld plant sprayer/mister? When we moved to our house we had lots of local cats (and chickens!) coming on to the veranda trying to get to our cats food bowls. Each time I saw one I'd get the water on it. Not a strong jet and only a brief squirt, but it worked. Very rarely does a cat come here now Grin

Ahh thank you! Haha yep, peppermint would be fab if it was his nose...! I will invest in something to spray him right back with Grin

I think the problem is that he has to cut through my garden to get home, so can’t resist a quick marking on the way.

I’m trying to think of deterrents but I don’t want to traumatise my own cat in the process!!
