My poor boy Bitz was in a road accident on Sunday, he survived and is currently in the vetinary hospital, he came through the operation to wire his jaw up yesterday, and the vet is pleased with his progress for a complex operation.
His brother Bobs, does not seem to know what do with himself, seems lost, eating but not as well as he was.
I am just a bit worried how Bob will be with him when Bitz is released, as he will be fragile and smell of the hospital, he will have to crated for 6-8 weeks.
Should I let them interact with each other?

Meant to say while we are with them, not crated together, as there will be a feeding tube.

Sorry to hear what Bitz has gone through, you must have been beside yourself, really glad to hear he has pulled through, personally I would let them interact, it will be a comfort to both of them, don’t see what good it would do to keep them apart, apart from make them pine for each other, it will probably aid your cats recovery to be with Bobs. Really hope your cats are back to full health very soon.

Get well soon Bitz!

Check with the vet about how to handle Bob. Being wired+tubed I guess Bitz won't have a Cone of Shame? Bob will almost certainly try and lick the operation site which is likely to be a bad thing, but the comfort will make both feel better.

One of mine had a feeding tube. It was very short and covered by a bandage. She left it alone. As did her sister. Although she's very docile so didn't scratch it.

Thank you for your good wishes, unfortunately, the op was not a success, he had to have another op today, now has a brace on his face.
Poor lad.

Oh no Cherry that’s awful, what a massive set back, really hope the second op is a success Flowers

Fatty had a major op on her jaw and had half her cheek bone removed. She bounced back incredibly quickly. Though I couldn't stop laughing when I saw her half shaved head.
