The litter tray

Spongecat and food

Spongecat has a sachet of supermarket wet cat food at one meal, and for the other has a dental dry food, to help keep her teeth in good condition. I alternate this with a Science Plan food. Although the wet food gets wolfed down, she is less keen of the biscuits. Yes, I could drop them off altogether, but I would prefer her to have them, as they are better quality than the other food, and she probably needs some dry food. Even if I only put a small quantity out at a time, I still seem to end up chucking a lot of biscuits. Anyone else had this and found a reasonably healthy solution? TIA.

Do you not just leave the dry food down for her to come back and forth to during the day?

I do Pixie, but she ignores it and comes pestering me from about an hour before her other (wet) meal is due! I sling the old food out in the morning, as I imagine soggy biscuits won't help.

Could you put the biscuits in one of those interactive toys? She might be tempted to eat them if you turn it into a reward with her play.

Maybe try a different dry food? What's the dental stuff?

That's an idea Jenny. Though she is fairly lazy like her mother It seems though that she might be hungry, but will hang on for the other food which she prefers.

Can you mix the science plan wet food with the good dry food? This is what I do (different food but grain free and high end), he has dry food out at night. Mine is a house cat; he has three small mixed meals a day.

Are her teeth sore and the wet foods easier to eat?.

Could you give half a sachet of meat and a few biscuits at each meal? You say the biscuits are soggy. You're not mixing them with the meat are you? You're much better off putting the meat in one bowl and the biscuits in another.

Some good ideas here, thanks. Shouldn't be any dental issues Fluffy as had recent, and very expensive dental work.
