Cattery expectations?

Am I expecting too much?

So, just picked my girl up, was met by someone I've not seen there before. He told me the normal lady was away. I have no objection to them going on holiday, but do you agree they should've mentioned it when I booked or dropped her off? I like to ask how she's been, if eaten ok etc but he knew nothing & said he was only there to sort the couple of collections (note: she is fine, gave me a good telling off & is now sleeping on me!) Would you be miffed?

Yes, I would expect to be told if someone else was going to be taking care of them (the reason we use a particular cattery is purely because the owner is so lovely). If the guy was only there for collections, do you know when your lady went away?

I think it depends on if it's a cattery obviously run by one person only or if they usually have other staff as well? i.e if you specifically took your cat to be looked after by the owner, in which case yes then I would have wanted to know.

I suppose "being away" could refer to something other than a holiday unless he specifically said holiday - she might have had to go away unexpectedly for a family emergency or something and didn't know at the time you took your cat there.

Wouldn't even occur to me. The one my cats use has several staff. They have written reports of all the activities they've done with them. Apparently this is unusual though. They also post pictures on Facebook.

It's a fairly small family run place, I only usually seen the owner & her daughter. It just seemed strange to me but oh well. No other issues with them
