The litter tray

This fella is usually curled up on me or DH about now, but not anymore. :(

Someone's dog chased him in the field behind our house. He tried to squirm under my friend's gate and got stuck and the dog got him and killed him.

The kids are devastated.
His sister is looking for him.
DH (who used to swear at him for being suck a pain in the arse, then allow him to sleep on his shoulder/chest etc) is very quiet.

Not a good day.

Your poor lovely cat, I’m so sorry.
Surely a dog that kills other animals should be put down?

Harley. We got him as a kitten from the rescue this time last year, so he was only one and a few months old.

I’m so sorry for your loss, what a gorgeous boy. Sending you all big hugs Flowers we lost our young boy a year ago and it was so sad. I hope the dog’s owner is aware of this and has apologised.

The dog owner was heard to be calling his dog off when DD went to see what the fuss was. He then walked off the field, looking over his shoulder occasionally as he went as she came out to look for our cat as she knew we didn't have both in the house. He must have seen her, but just left.

The police aren't really interested as 'it's the nature of dogs to chase smaller animals' and they aren't interested unless he couldn't get the dog away or was inciting it to attack in the first place.

He could at least have stuck around to say sorry!

Your DD found your cat? And if the owner was “calling it off” and it still did this then it wasn’t under control.
I have a giant sighthound. Yes they were bred to chase. But she is trained. She comes when called and stops when told.

I would be fuming! Do you know who the person is? I'd be right around at his door, confronting him (and I hate confrontation but pets are your babies!)

I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️
