So I've done dp some cheese on crumpets and the biggest lump of cheese fell onto the floor. My cat wasted no time and drived for it. I went to chase her and then unfortunately the grill started to nearly set first the crumpets so Needless to say I didn't get the cheese off her, not that she would let me anyway! An I now can't find it, she's ate it! Will she be okay? She couldn't get her mouth around it! Surely a lot is bad for her?
It was huge really strong cheddar 😣 I hope so. I give her tiny tiny bits rarely as a treat for her, she can tell dp is getting it out the fridge automatically and she will bolt downstairs for some. I just hope it doesn't make her poorly
Cheese is fermented milk, using lactobacillus, which convert the lactose to lactic acid. As a consequence, there isn't much lactose in cheese, particularly hard types like cheddar, so I wouldn't worry. Cats tend to be lactose intolerant ( not all cats), but most aren't intolerant to dairy protein.
