SOS - Little Miss Nosy has gotten herself stuck

We’ve just moved house and our cat has started going out this week. A dog lives next door but the owners have gone away with dog, don’t know how long for.

She has taken the opportunity to enter the previously forbidden land to see what all the fuss is about. She has jumped into their garden and can’t get back over.

DH is asleep after his nightshift, I’ve got a sleeping toddler in the house, I’m pregnant and precariously balanced against the brick wall, jingling my keys because I can’t find the laser pen to try and get her to come back as she miaows pathetically and occasionally tries to climb the wall but keeps falling down.

Help.....

Do you have something you can lower over on to the other side for her to climb up - a step ladder for example. How high is the wall? If she's usually a good climber even a blanket (you would need to be able to hold on to it to bear her weight) might be enough. Is there a lower boundary on another side of their garden?

They're an absolute pain at times, mine was trying to get on top of a storage unit this morning then after seeing her abortive attempts I picked her up and put her on the top. After a nap she sent several books flying and a painting.

So no gate? Is there a chair you can stand upon?

Yes we got her back!

I got DH out of bed after she had been stuck there about an hour and what happens? She comes strolling in our gate cool as a cucumber just as he vaults the wall to get her.

Could have throttled her!

😂 I’m surprised he didn’t chuck her back! But what a lucky cat, to have two such lovely owners.

BTY. In future, drape a throw/blanket over the wall, so she’ll have something to climb.

That's like my cat who went up on our low roof at the front of the house and then miaowed pathetically as if they were stuck. I went inside to get a ladder but by the time I got it he had strolled in the door!

He also went exploring in next doors house (he knows they have a dog) and I have never seen him come back over the fence so quick in my life when their dog chased him back out the door!

My parents beast frequently pretends he can't climb down from the roof of their single story extension. So my dad has to stand on a Ladder, so he'll jump Onto his shoulder. I'm convinced that he's having them on. He can get down off the roof of a neighbour's bungalow unaided. But they are completely wrapped round his paw.

We open the window for the spoiled one to jump in

See that one on the roof? Well he apparently can't jump up to the window sill so we have to let him in the door. His brother can jump up so we let him in and out the window

Little sods, aren’t they? Dcat sometimes needs a bit of encouragement so I am often to be found hanging out of the window with Dreamies!
