The litter tray

What makes your cat happy?

Here, in no particular order, it's :

A very tall scratching pole
8 meals a day
A boiling hot, sunny conservatory
A dab of butter on the paw
A busy birdtable
NOT going to the cattery anymore
A spot of milk on the nose
A flat immobile lap
A clean latrine

Smile

Catching flies and insects and eating them .. absolutely obsessed
Lots of food, but very very fussy about what she will eat
Jumping up on kitchen surfaces to lick food off plates etc
Lying on my feet or legs (doesn't like laps)
Scratching post, which is too small for her now and she keeps knocking it down.

I have never heard of another cat requiring 8 meals a day, Ajas! We are in constant dispute about it. And he will still steal food and milk, given any opportunity. He is a belly on legs, but not fat, just big.

I too can add a gross one - chasing, catching and eating flies, the bigger the better, especially blue bottles Envy - not envy

A cardboard box. Any box, any size, as long as He can fit his bottom in it. If he can use catyoga to entirely fold his limbs into the box, he will be happy as a cat on a box for hours. We can hear him purring, the box buzzes. We save all boxes for our cat.

Being rolled with my lint roller (ironic as he’s the reason I use it so much)
Dreamies
Flying frenzy
Having his favourite people visit - DP’s dad followed by our doctor neighbour from across the road
Being chased after he’s had a poo (if it’s a wee he’s not up for it)
Knocking full glasses of water onto the carpet
Drinking Evian water from the cap

Sitting on my laptop.

Sitting on a piece of paper that gets left out.

Wacking pens on to the floor.

Balancing along the top of the bannisters.

Sitting in the basin while we have a bath.

Staring at the wall.

Eating (although not anything that has been in her bowl for more than 10 minutes)

Report
POPholditdown · 27/04/2018 16:04

A little bit of food at a time, only in the centre of the bowl. If it’s at the side it’s not there.

Food bowls brought to them in the living room, as the kitchen tiles are too cold I think.

The boy- loves to be picked up every morning when I get in from work, and curls up on my shoulder.

One likes to sit on my lap in the garden, being hand fed grass.

Same one also likes her water in a glass.

The chunky one likes to sit at the dining table and taste test when we have dinner. (We have to make sure there’s something suitable for her, like a plain piece of chicken, or a drop of yogurt)

Checking the grocery shopping.

Watching me when I’m on the loo.

Helping (watching) me cook.

And cuddles (my favourite).

Watching me in the shower

Lying on my head at 5am, purring like a lawnmower and gently patting my face

Emptying out my underwear drawer and hiding my silky pants in her cat igloo

My cat is possibly a pervert Confused

Drinking Evian from the cap - that is wonderful :)

Me opening the door for her just so she can look outside. It is a glass door but it would appear that just looking through the glass is insufficient.

How does the dog react to that, Gin?! Many years ago, (too many), I lived in a house as an Au Pair and the 2 cats slept on top of the dog - always. What made one of them even happier was weeing in the pot plants, especially the (expensive) Bonsai trees.

Chicken sticks

Dreamies

Drinking out of any running tap

Drinking from my glass of water

Drinking cold tea (there's a theme here)

Drinking from the ironing water jug - this is particularly favoured, she can hear the ironing board being set up from the bottom of the garden and will frantically run in looking for said jug.

Chasing flies

Elastic bands - I think the postman drops them in the street as they bring them home daily. It's very odd, I find them by the cat flap every morning.

Sitting in the bathroom sink.

Sitting next to me but not actually on me.

Being brushed with the dog brush, much preferable to being brushed with the cat brush. Obviously.

Doors being open, not closed. Otherwise they want to be on the other side of the closed door.

Odd little creatures aren't they!?
