Naughty cat won’t come home

Hi all. So Polly, my black and white little lady has beggared off out yesterday evening (Monday around 10pm) and hasn’t been home since. It’s unusual for her to be out this long. I went looking for her with my other cat, looking like the local cat crazy lady with my other cat in tow !😂 any way I’ve spotted her around an hour ago under a bush. Only her face but it was definitely her. She saw me and did one back under the thick bush so I can’t see or get at her. She won’t come home and must be hungry by now surely? she is a timid little thing and only really likes me so can’t imagine her with another home or anything like that. I’ve got to go to bed now so I’m leaving her a window open 😐 hopefully she will be home looking smug in the morning. If she isn’t, what do you suggest?? X

I hate to say this but she may be hurt. Cats will hide away when injured. Are you able to take another look or get hold of her?

Just re-read your post and realised you said you can't see her now. I would definitely be trying to find her in the morning if she isn't home. You may be able to see if she's injured or looks unwell. Not wishing this on you and it may be she just wants to stay out and enjoy the milder evenings but personally I would be a little concerned.

I’ve been back out as I thought that myself. A local tom cat is around where she was spotted and she isn’t a fan of other cats (except her daughter who lives with her) so that may be contributing to her hiding. She’s spayed so that’s not an issue I am worried though 😐

I’ve left her favourite window open and topped up her food so hopefully come morning she will be home. If not I will be back out looking for her. I went into the bushand got prickled and ended up with twigs in my hair 😂

No she still hasn’t been home. I’m just taking kids on the school run and will be back to look for her soon. Might have to go do some door knocking. My poor baby Polly Sad it’s so horrible isn’t it!!

No don’t think anyone I know will have a trap 🤔 I will have to have a look near the bush I saw her in. There’s a big old scary looking house in the opposite side of the bush. I might have to go see if they will let me have a look around their grounds x

Do you have an end-opening carry box? If so, put something with her / her daughter's scent on in there, together with food, cover with a blanket (so it's as den-like as possible) and put near the bush.

You could also ask the vet if they've got a trap you could use. Good luck!

No sign still 😢Sad poor girl. I miss her to death. Been out again today multiple times, left some food out for her. Rang every vet and cattery locally and checked all the roads for signs. X

Oh I really hope she comes back soon. At least it is warm out this evening.
My old girl has been out a lot in the last couple of days (spring)
Try waiting until it is really quiet outside, and call again.
Keeping fingers crossed for you

Oh dear, that is a worry. Do you have neighbours and, if so, can you pop some leaflets through their doors in case she is hiding up in one of their gardens or they have seen her.

Hi all, I’ve been round all the neighbourhood letting them all know she’s missing and to ask if they’d check their sheds/garages etc. I will make some posters tomorrow morning if she’s not home by then 😢 x

Still no signs of her. I’m desperately upset, I’m heavily pregnant and my hormones are wild already. So combined with thinking the worst has happened to my poor little cat, I’m an emotional wreck! X

Don't give up hope.
Put some of her favourite food out this evening.
Posters in post office? Local shops etc.
Keep calling for her, if she is stuck somewhere she will hear your voice & might call back.
Can you ask friends to help you look?
Maybe if someone found her with an injury they perhaps took her to a vet or cat rescue centre.
Is she chipped? Does she have a collar and tag?
Keeping everything crossed for you

update!

After 5 painful, scary, upsetting days, the little madam has walked in this morning! She has definitely been stuck in somewhere, she’s unharmed but absolutely ravenous and thirsty!

Thank you all so much for your help and tips to find her. I’m over the moon! Xxx

Poor Polly! Are you supposed to feed and give water a little at a time in these circumstances?

I gather she is grounded for the foreseeable future.

I’ve given her a small amount of food and water so she doesn’t overindulge and end up ill. That was the first thing I thought after watching I’m a celeb when they all gorged themselves and were sick! She seems perfectly fine, quite tired though and a small cut on one ear but nothing too bad. I will keep a close eye on her and take her to the vets for a once over this week coming xx thank you all! X
