Injury to face not healing

5 year old Sid the Cat has an injury to the side of face about the size of a 2p. The fur in this area is missing and the injury looks raw and sore.

He doesn't seem in pain and is eating well and going about his business as usual. He doesn't seem to obviously touch the injury and it doesn't bother him; not infected. However a scab forms and gets knocked off somehow, and off we go again.

He's had the injury for about 8 weeks - not sure what caused it. Vet gave him an antibiotic and steroid injection and didn't seem overly concerned although suggested some cats need to be on steroids long term hmm

Any ideas how I can help his face to heal.

One of my old cats had a serious cat bite on his breast and it took ages to heal. He had antibiotics from the vet, but cos it was so bad, it needed a bit of time to heal.
