Blood stained saliva

Sorry I know I have already posted about my lovely old boy having kidney disease. He hasn't eaten for two days and this morning won't drink water either. I have a vet appointment in a couple of hours. I've just gone to stroke him and noticed he has drooled some blood stained saliva on the floor. I'm hoping maybe he has a sore mouth and that's partly why he's not eating.
I feel physically sick at the thought of him being so poorly 😞

I feel for you and you are doing the right thing by taking him back to the vets. I have been to the vet three times in the last week with my boy with a recent diagnosis of diabetes and pancreatitis. He is stable currently, eating and is relaxed. This week has been hell though. I have been so close to tears all week and feel completely helpless. I really thought Wednesday I was going to lose him. The vets are wonderful and will do their very best. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Handhold.

Thanks you @Els1e I'm so glad your boy has improved now, reading your reply has made me cry I feel so 😥 at the moment. He was only diagnosed with kidney disease two weeks ago and I felt quite hopeful as they said it can be managed with the renal food or Ipakitine. He also now has tabs for high blood pressure since last wk. We've been managing to get him to eat but didn't eat anything yesterday or Wednesday. This morning he is so weak and doesn't even want water. It's like he has a horrible taste in his mouth - the vet nurse said that if his urea levels are high this will make him feel sick and not want to eat. My absolute hope is that they will put him on a drip to get some fluid in him and then he will get his appetite back. I feel so sick it's horrible.

The vet phoned me with bad news. His readings are off the scale, his temperature was only 33 and they have only got it up by one degree despite being on a heat mat, he has anaemia and is barely responsive. The vet said he just lay on his side while they took bloods. He thinks it's not fair to prolong treatment because he doesn't think it will make a difference so recommend we do the kind thing. I feel sick and absolutely heart broken have to go in shortly...😥😥😥

You are massively caring person. I wish I could add some words of wisdom but I just feel for you in your loss. If I could emojis I would but unless at this millarky. Take care and big hugs.

Thank you @AlexaAmbidextra @PinkSparklyPussyCat and @Els1e. Friday was one of the worst days of my life so far. My poor beautiful cat. He was so poorly and tired when we got to the vet, although he was being kept warm and looked rested, not in pain (I hope). He did move and look at us when we stroked him, kissed him and talked to him so I'm sure he knows we were there with him. I know we made the right decision for him but it's just so desperately sad. Afterwards we spent time with him kissing and stroking him and he looked peaceful. We miss him so much but I know we gave him a happy life with so much shared love and I am so thankful that we had the privilege of being owned by him for the last, almost, seventeen years

So so sorry for your loss.
You absolutely did the right thing but that doesn't make it easier.
