Missing indoor hairless cat urgent

Just as the title says really, child let him out (Envy) at 4 this afternoon and he still isn't back.

I've tried looking without any luck, any suggestions? I'm obviously worried as it's very cold outside and his hairless and just a kitten.

Bloody hell front or back. Does he respond to dreamies shaking?

Shake his food bowl, call his name?

I’d probably risk leaving a window open for him to be able to get back in, if that is at all possible.

Leave the litter tray just outside the door, or leave the door open with the tray just inside.

Fingers crossed!

Are you in a house? I second leave the door open has he been fed tonight? I don’t think he would’ve gone far if you spotted straight away. Have you got a torch?

I've put a bowl of his food out there earlier for him,no dreamies left.

I've tried to take his mum outside to sniff him out but as it's so cold she runs back in.

As for cat litter idea before my son told me he let him out I put the two trays in to soak...

I can't go out again as I'm a single parent and child is asleep. I'm going to open front room window and just hope.

Sad.

Thank you for the advice

Put his litter out for the scent. Maybe some really stinky food to entice him back.
Bit late now but have you been to ask neighbours if they've seen him. Is he microchipped?

Empty your hoover bag on drive, may be coincidence but it brought our dozy boy back twice.

Oh Jesus OP that’s bad. Do you have smoky or friends you can send on the hunt? This could end badly.

He probably hasn't gone far. Cats don't tend to, anyway. He might be hiding under a hedgerow, or behind a shed or other small, dark place. Could you lock child in the house and have a quick poke around outside with a torch?

I've opened the front room window,I think I'll sleep down here tonight incase I can hear him meowing.

I can't do the litter tray as suggest as just before he went I put the trays to soak.

I have his mum and dad here so I'm hoping he can smell them somehow.

Do you think if I put a blanket they all sleep with in there bed, outside that may help?

He was supposed to be microchipped this week but the dad had to have a emergency operation and multiple visits so they changed my dates as they was fully booked.

The dad has just gone out the window,so I'm hoping he might be able to find him, when he comes back if little one doesn't follow I'm going to go back outside.

Yes the blanket could help too-another familiar scent. Fingers crossed he turns up

Shit. Can you leave your back door wide open? I'd risk it if it were me.

Get it out on Facebook now! You can change your settings just for that one post. If you don’t have Facebook or for personal reasons can’t change your settings, contact a friend to do it. The sooner you get it out, the better. Get it onto lost and found sites too. My wee housecat that had one eye and acrophobia, was accidentally locked out and hid. I sat with my back door open crying all night. The wee skitter came wandering in at first light. Put some boxes, especially cardboard ones, if it’s dry, out with some of your worn clothes in them, near places he’s liable to have got out, gap in hedge, near gates, etc. Cats have an amazing sense of smell and hopefully he’ll hide in one. Good luck OP.

If the litter trays have been washed empty out your hoover near where he got out. My indoor cat was missing for 4 days and the night we did that she came back. Hope you find him soon!

Will put that out now and also open up the back door then at least he has two possible way to get in.
Thank you again everybody.

You need to let your neighbours know to keep an eye out too, and ideally post on local Facebook groups as a pp says.

How old is the missing kitten?

CrazyCatLady18 · 06/03/2018 23:33

Oh, I hope he's home soon. He's probably having a good mooch around. Put a missing poster in your front window as well. Everything x'd for you.
