We had to have one of our beloved boys PTS last night. It wasn't entirely unexpected but it came suddenly. It comforts me that he spent his last day in the sun, on his favourite seat in the garden, with his brother sitting close by, as if they knew...

We have no children so I'm afraid he really was a fur-baby to us.

The vets were utterly wonderful and I am so grateful to them. It was mercifully quick in the end and I have absolutely no doubt that we did the right thing.

But it's so hard isn't it? Even the dog seems sad.

Take comfort in the fact that you put his needs above everything else and acted with love.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers

My beautiful cat was pts last Monday at home due to cancer.

She was just 10 and like one of my best mates as she followed me everywhere at home.

So I understand how you feel, it's horrible and I miss her so much.
I got her ashes back yesterday which was upsetting.

But I've accidentally adopted another rescue cat, when I say accidentally I mean it's happened much sooner than I expected.
I just went to the rescue centre to look round, felt drawn to one particular cat and was told 'you can take her home tomorrow'!!
So I didn't feel I could say no... and now I have a new cat demanding my attention!

She is very different from my old cat which is good as I wasn't looking for a replacement... just a new little friend.

I'm so sorry to hear your loss. Treasure those special memories. It's not easy, but hang onto the fact he also has a great life with you. My boy enjoyed the sun his last few days despite the fact he was so ill. x
