The litter tray

It's shit when they die :(

My lovely boy died very unexpectedly last night and I'm just absolutely devastated. Haven't stopped crying all day. He's usually who I turn to for a cuddle when I'm upset, I've got no furry face to snuggle up against now Sad I feel so desperately sorry for him.

No point to this thread really, I just needed a moan Sad

It is absolutely horrible. How old was he? Do you know what caused it?

Take it easy x

He was only 8. I think he was knocked by a car, the vet said he had a massive clot and had started to build up fluid.

I just miss him so much. It's ridiculous when you think about it, he was just a cat. But he was a big part of our family. I'd give anything for one last cuddle.

Thank you, he was very cute. He'd do these little barks when he wanted attention, then he'd come and give kisses with his little nose.

Thanks for letting me blab on.

It is horrendous. I lost the Best-Cat-In-The-World-Ever when she had just turned six. I cried for weeks, and bizarrely my arms felt empty. It wasn't as if I went about carrying her everywhere.

"Your cat died utterly loved. They wouldn't have wanted it any other way" were the words which helped me.

as servants to the overlords, we all know the day will come. That doesn't make it any easier. Blab as much as you like, and share as many photos or stories as you like.

I'm sorry for your loss of your lovely boy. I have two brothers aged 13 and I live in fear of the loss of either, my cats bring so much joy.

You'll remember his funny little mews and ways forever and he lives on in your heart. You might find quite a few tears to come yet.

Thanks everyone Flowers it's helped just to write it down, I just felt like my brain was going to explode thinking of him. I keep walking past bedrooms expecting to see his little face looking at me while he lays on the bed. He wasn't really allowed on the beds so if he saw me he would instantly roll over and start acting cute...he got away with it every time!
I don't think my old cat has realised he's gone yet, although he does keep looking round. I still have the children to tell after school Sad

Will miss you forever Nigel

The shittest thing about animals I agree.

What a handsome lad though, so very, very sorry for your loss

Never just a Cat. It's unconditional. They demand. You obey. If you are lucky they let you have cuddles.

Be kind to yourself xxxx

I'm so so sorry for your loss, I've been there and it's devastating. It's not ridiculous at all, it's very real grief and they are never 'just a cat'. Thinking of you and look after yourself x

Poor Nigel, and poor you.
I lost my boy yesterday. All I have done today is mope about, looking at places he used to sit.
He'd been my confidante for 16 years, he got me through heart breaks and illness and I can't believe he's gone Sad

It’s really tough, isn’t it. Especially when it feels like they ought to have more life to live. I’ve been fortunate with my last three cats - they all lived to a ripe old age, even tho they were all ill at the end. For me the best therapy is getting another cat!
