Can I add:
Bloody dog owners who let their dogs loose in the waiting room at the vet, and then when I raise an eyebrow say "Oh don't mind him, he's just being friendly."

Yes, I can see that. I have been a dog owner. I like dogs. My cat does not, especially when she is stuck in a carrier with no way of escaping.

I would be fuming at that, both my cats would have been terrified. They’re already stressed just being at the vets.

As a side issue, I’ve owned dogs in the past, one of which would not have taken kindly to another dog approaching her like that!

DCat is snuggled on my lap, digging her claws in. We haven't had that many so far, but come midnight there will be an avalanche of them!

Aww, mine looks a bit scared. They're in full swing here.

To be honest Leroy couldn't give a shit. They're annoying the crap out of me now though... shut UP 😂.

This with bells on!!
My two didn't seem bothered by the fireworks. Surprisingly, as they are very nervous.

Old, neurotic girl wasn't bothered by fireworks in the slightest.
Current confident boy is a quivering wreck.
I feel like crap because we were out last night and I wasn't there to save him Sad

Don't know what you can do about fireworks. My boy doesn't appear to be bothered.

The vet I attend had a cat waiting area. It's great, poor things are usually stressed enough being in the carriers and at the vets.

My vet has a cat waiting area, unfortunately it doesn't stop the noise from the dogs. I do take pleasure in asking people with dogs not to sit in the Cat area though!

My cat doesn't mind fireworks particularly. Bloody hates dogs though.
