Cats and snow

What do your cats make of the snow? PuffinCat doesn't understand it all! She's refusing to go out and has gone all quiet, which is most unlike her. Pic of moping kitty attached.

They charged out, skidded into each other and ran back inside - there were perfect paw prints showing this for a while Grin

She went out in it, then hid so DH had to go and find her. Not keen at all!

Lucy is disgusted by the snow, her mate Treacle knocked for her earlier but she refused to anywhere near the catflap.

The kitten had a nose but as soon a flake touched her head she headed in.

Old Boy (now gone) loved snow, would beg to go out.

Old Girl only does outside if it’s 24+Degrees and she needs her cushion (yes she has a cushion that she sits on outside; yes DP the “cat hater”started this…) she current stat on the window ledge shouting at the birds at NDNs feeder

What’s this white stuff coming out of the sky?

My much-missed old girl used to love the snow and would have a mad 5 minutes dashing about in it, pouncing and feeling with her paws underneath it and chucking it about. The current one went about three feet across the patio this morning, turned round and came straight back in. Now asleep on my bed (very sensible).

Our kitten can’t make out what’s going on. He’s quite pleased about the fire being lit though.

Garden cushion Grin

You can see the paw prints on our lawn where he realises he's made an awful mistake & jumps back onto the path.

I opened the back door for them earlier and they looked at me as though I'd broken the world. Later on, one of them snuck outside to explore on her own and came back wet and thoroughly unimpressed. They are now snuggled up on the sofa recovering from the stress of it all.

Way back, my childhood cat, ventured out into the very deep snow. Our garden was on a slope, but the snow had made it all level. She took a huge jump, landed in the middle of what was normally a slope and disappeared! It was the funniest thing we had ever seen! We stood and laughed while she floundered around until my DF took pity on her and rescued her by grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and hoicking her out. Cue one indignant cat who didn't talk to us for the rest of the day.

One of mine is terrified of the snow. She was dumped when she was a kitten and I found this tiny kitten outside. As soon as she sees it she bolts upstairs.

Two of the others pop a paw in and come straight back in.

The stray is currently snuggled up in blankets so don't think he's keen either!

The Sokoke had his first taste of snow....his breed is originally from Kenya so they aren't adapted for snow. He had a sniff and then went back to bed.

My cat decided that she would try it out, trotted up the lawn, did a U-turn and galloped back down and inside, skidding around the corner of the kitchen into the dining room! She has seen it before, but I don't think she liked the wet coldness!

My two went out for two seconds then refused to leave the house. I have a day off school so they are both crushing me. The kitten is 8 months old and has never seen snow before. Unimpressed for sure
