Neighbours cat is bullying my cats

Neighbours cat is coming into my garden and regularly beating my cats up. My cats don't ever really leave our garden. My cats are siblings aged 11. The bullying cat is about 4. It's not cats fighting as mine don't stand a chance and end up cowering while being attacked. They have been scratched and bitten and the smallest had a lump taken out her ear. I have had to rescue my cats a few times.

I try to scare next doors cat away by shouting and hissing but it doesn't care, I even tried spraying it with water but it hasn't helped. I don't want to keep mine in as they enjoy being out and have always gone out.

I recently mentioned it to my neighbour when I saw them, I began in a jokey way but they got defensive and said cats fight and to get over myself.

What can I do to protect my cats without keeping them in all the time, which they would hate!

Can you get proof your garden? Yours can't get out and theirs won't be able to get in.

Make sure there are hiding places and many routes of escape from the garden so your cats can't get cornered. Keep water pistol at the ready. Other than that.... Not sure you can do much.

My elderly cat is now too scared to go out Sad

Get a good sized water pistol, and spray the bully cat whenever it ventures into your garden. Preferably when your 2 aren't around, in case it puts them off too. It will soon get the message. They really hate this.

I have tried water, it runs off initially but comes back and I am not always here to protect my cats. I can't stop it getting in...

Can you cat proof your garden? A few companies do it or you can buy stuff to DIY as well.
