Lost my poor baby

Yesterday in the early hours of the morning I lost my baby Teddy to a RTA on a dual carriageway. I'm so heart broken that I never got to say good bye but very thankful a kind lady stopped and took him to the vets so we could be notified.
He was only a year old and such a gorgeous black and white kitty, but my god was he a little shit at times! Loved to bite and fight - you had to watch your ankles Smile
The house feels so empty with out him, I'm dreading going home tonight on my own. Sad Is is really silly to want to sleep with his favourite toy?
Not looking for sympathy just somewhere to vent my feelings as I don't have anyone to talk to.

So sorry for the loss of your Teddy. He sounds like he was a real character. That's an awful thing to happen. We're here to listen & chat. Sleeping with his toy's not silly. He'll always be with you.

So sorry to hear about this, it's awful when you lose them. Thanks I lost my cat a few days ago suddenly due to illness, and know exactly what you mean about an empty house - the spaces where they used to go scream at you. Sad

I've been here before a few years ago when I lost a cat in a RTA and I know it takes a while to get over the grief. Everywhere there are reminders. Take care and try to have positive memories. I'm also creating a little remembrance photo book of Daisy, I find looking at photos of her in happier times makes me smile.

Take care.

muree.I was you last week. It's an appalling time lovely, vent away if it helps.
Do anything that brings you comfort, my dd said she just wanted to scream and do you know what I let her. We received a lovely book in the post today called cat heaven, sent from a very nice friend. We cried again reading it this evening.
Flowers I am so so sorry (big cuddles for you)

I’m so very sorry. The same thing happened to us three weeks ago and it is devastating.

Flowers and a big hug for you and RIP little Teddy.

So sorry for your loss. I know how you are feeling as I had to have my kitten PTS this week and there is such an empty feeling in the house. I am sure you have some lovely memories to hold onto.

So sorry for your loss. Same thing happened to me 5 weeks ago but on a local road. Vet called me when she was brought into them. I can't get over it either. She was 8 and I rescued her 3 and a half years ago from abusive owners. Seems such a waste of life. I have gone through all the what ifs and the guilt for letting her out but she loved to hunt and prowl. What helped me was how many neighbours said they were sorry and she was a lovely cat. Also my son, 29, who pointed out I wasn't the one driving the car which hit her and that she would have been very unhappy confined to the house only. I still cry for my Ruby though.

Thank you all for your kind words. It is getting easier but still hurts a lot. We have another Kitty called Diego staying with us at the moment. He was a stray that just decided to move in Confused but he is lovely and has really helped me cope.

That's good to hear. It isn't something you just get over. You'll always be thinking of him. Glad you've got a little visitor. Diego's a great name!

I had to contact the cats protection about him and they said his name was Diego Smile. He started coming in a nicking Teddy's food but them started sleeping overnight quite a bit. Turns out he ran away from his previous owners and travelled from town to town before coming to us - his previous owner don't want him back. He seems happy to stay with us and we're happy to have him. Saying that we will be taking him to the vet for a check up Thursday so may not like us much after that Blush

I m glad you have a little cat to help you out. That's like me, I lost my Ruby in September and now have Ellie. Ruby s never forgotten but having another baby to care for does help Flowers
