The litter tray

Where is the rest of the mouse?

If you were small annoying black cat where would you hide the top half of a mouse?

DH came downstairs this morning to find the rear half of a mouse on the living room carpet. Gcat,(pic attached) who usually comes upstairs to announce the arrival of a new gift, was nowhere to be seen, and was silent on the subject when questioned

Where is the rest of the mouse?

Has your cat eaten it? That's usually the most likely scenario.

In its stomach probably Grin

Definitely in the stomach

Actually (speaking from experience) the missing half of the mouse may well be in your dressing gown pocket.

That does look like a rather full, satisfied cat! Grin

Speaking from bitter, bitter experience, I'd check your shoes.

My friends DevilCat once left half a fucking rat in my boots when I stayed with her.

She thought it meant he loved me so muchhe wanted to give me a yummy rat.
I think he hated me so much, short of shitting in my lap, it was the best thing he could think of to make me leave! Grin

Same cat also once left the entrails and wings of a pigeon in my friends bed.

Put the heating on and follow the smell?
Or wait a few weeks and look for the maggots.

I found half a mouse under the tumble drier the other week. Thought it was a bunch of fluff (got 3 dogs and a cat) so swept it out with the broom. Was confronted with a horrid stench and a ton of maggots. 😷

This, and also a thread where an OP's cat left bits of mauled slug on her pillow, is why I cannot bring myself to get a cat although the dc long for one. I'm too squeamish.

I understand some cats like to bring gifts and others don't. I wish we could interview them first to check 😑

My experience says check in your shoes

64, get an old male cat! Young females are worst hunters IME.

I usually get live mice in my boots. Also if half a creature turns up the other half has normally been eaten but will make a reappearance in vomit form at some point and somewhere inaccessible and/or anti social!

I once found only a mouse liver. Placed lovingly in the middle of a dark rug. I found it with my bare toe.

FatCat left the rear end of a mouse on DS2s floor once. About a week later he left a head. As the head was fresh, it must have been a different mouse but it was almost like he felt bad about only leaving half the first time.

I think the other halves were in the cat given he would eat his own tail if necessary.

I will
Never forget having to clean up the regurgitated pigeon eyeball and beak. On my bed.

I get at least one every single day. So far I’ve managed to find them but I know my luck is running out. I’ve got the mum and one of her kittens and the mum kills them then gives them to the kitten to play with. He’s got one as we speak ..........

In your slippers or shoes. My DMs cat managed to squirt diarrhoea right down to the toe of her slipper, leaving nothing visible. She found it with her bare foot.

I'm guessing it's in DCats stomach. The brain is the fattiest (tastiest?) part, so it figures that the top half would be eaten first Grin

My friend sent me a picture of the first mouse his cat caught yesterday. I am really phobic if rodents, do I really appreciated that. Fortunately my two are so thick they couldn’t catch a cold!

Checked shoes and nothing there, so it must have been consumed. This means he is going to vomit somewhere inconvenient doesn't it?

He is a boy cat, and a lousy hunter, so any capture is celebrated. Well, by him at least.

Omg at squirted diarrhoea!! I also had a disembodied gizzard (I think). It still had grain in it. Oh god.

Report
EarlessToothlessVagabond · 06/10/2017 18:15

Not gizzard, the crop. The thing that birds store seeds etc in. Grim anyway!
