The litter tray

Cat weeing everywhere

Please help! Dramatic I know but I desperately need your help and advice. We got a 12 yr old Bengal from the rescue a few mths ago and she is gorgeous.
She settled in fine after an initial few days of hiding in my wardrobe. She is very loved and has plenty of playing, brushing and fuss given to her.
Recently, say the past 3 weeks she has started to wee in the house. She has wee'd in the lounge, my ds' bedroom, dining room (on top of the sideboard and next to a box), our bedroom, in the bath, basically anywhere she fancies.
I always ensure her litter tray is clean and the last time she used it was to have a poo one night last week, before then I'd say 8 weeks ago.
I have bought a spray to clean and deodorise the smell but what can we do to stop this behaviour?
I've ordered one of those diffuser things, aside from this she is perfect, she is not in pain, she is eating and drinking normally, goes outside, I'm at a loss and dread finding where her next wee is.

Our Bengal is prone to urine infections due to an abnormal stress reaction that means too much stress & he gets urine infections.

Weeing in the house is his only symptom.

If you collect some wee the vet can check it for you. Ours charges £8

Is she going back to the same places? Cats often use the smell to guide them, so if it smells of urine, she'll associate it with her toilet.

We had a problem with one of our cats weeing on the sofa (as well as in the tray). We sprinkled the sofa with Olbas Oil, and it masked the smell enough to stop her using it. Our living room did smell a bit odd for a while though....

Agree with Fluffy, it sounds like a UTI. Trip to the vets first and foremost.

I don't think she has an infection, she's just woken from her princess slumber and she's gone out to our front garden and pee'd on our grasses there and the urine looks very clear.

She doesn't use the same place twice, I wonder if she has had infection though as last week's wee smelt very strong and looked more yellowy.

Ok vet's it is and would you recommend one of those diffusers?

A six month course of cystease is probably a better investment, it helps prevent stress cystitis.

Is that something I need to buy from a vet?

I'm glad I found this as our 13 year old Bengal has just started doing the same. I'll look for the cystease.
