My cat has a very fluffy rear end. You are not alone.

Just NEVER try and shower off a kitty's knickers.
Ouch!

Been there, done that. Better that than risking the bum drag shuffle across the carpet!

Grin I just used a wodge of baby wipes. She was surprisingly tolerant!

Been there done that. Realised it was a job for professionals so got the vet to do it. Never giving her Sheba as a treat again!

I've had to clean what looked like stalks of pooey grass off my bottom stair plus off the kitchen floor. Have wiped the tail and back end of one (fluffy) cat as I think he'd been lying in something smelly outside. It was the short haired one that wiped his arse on my stairs. It's been a bad smelly cat day today

I used a wet cloth plus some wipes. Don't think he was impressed tbh

Mine will tolerate a shower but I try to avoid it if possible. I buy the pure water baby wipes for dealing with poo incidents and her habit of sitting down in sticky substances.

I just snip out the pooey fur with scissors. It's a two-person job, though- my cat HATES it.

This thread jinxed me. I had to put her in the shower today. She had a very runny poo, my fault as I let her have a bit if ice-cream yesterday, and apart from a small blob that made it to the litter tray the rest was just trailed down her back leg: Envy The wet wipes were like trying to use a bucket to empty the English Channel. Grin she wasn't happy about the shower, she kept trying to wedge herself bottom-first into the corners so that I couldn't point the shower at her bum.

Yep, have to wipe their butts and sometimes elsewhere when they get pooey.

The worst was when I walked in to find smaller, cream kitten sitting in the litter tray with shit all over his head... I think his brother pooed on him. Had to wash him in the sink, he looked so pathetic- huge eyes and ears, tiny little body!

I had to do this Friday...with the added bonus that I had picked him up and ended up with a smear all done my forearm...gross

My poor little 9 week old was really constipated, took her to the vets who gave her some medicine to 'loosen things up' this morning she was running along, let out a pump and poo dribbled out everywhere! Didn't know weather to laugh or cry

I've had the honour of chasing my cat around the house (armed with several squares of kitchen roll) trying to dislodge a stubborn cling-on that would not exit alone.

Not one of the highlights of my life year.

Yep, been there!

My old cat was in the vets after surgery, and we didn't have a car so I had to carry him home in his carrier. All went fine until we walked past a massive German Shepherd - who was perfectly calm but sniffed the carrier and gave poor cat such a fright he shat himself and promptly sat in it.

It took two of us to clean up - he was wrapped in a towel burrito and my ex had the dubious pleasure of wiping shit off his bum, legs and feet!

Vinocat has been known to have a piece of grass poking out her bumhole which has required removal.

Yep we have baby wipes by the cat litter tray. She looks mad st put out when we do it, but I think she is secretly pleased.

This was a regular occurrence with my dearly loved sadly departed old boy.

Leroy? Fuck no. He's got big teeth and claws!

Sticky poo + fluffy knickers here, I feel your pain. Our tactic is dreamies at the front end, scissors at the back. Not too many dreamies, or the poo gets stickier. We aim to collar him as soon as possible once he's out the litter box else he wipes it on the carpet Envy

You are not alone OP, when I first got one of my cats she had an upset tum, DP had to wipe her bum and it wasn't good for anyone involved (cat actually screamed) lol

:) Draylon :)

Have a fluffy arse here too, usually get it sorted by sitting in tiny bathroom with door closed, armed with damp washcloth, scissors & plenty of patience.

Grab & wipe followed by lots of fuss & reassurance, luring onto lap while cutting out worst bits & sponging off the rest.

He usually forgives me straight after as he feels so much better :)
