Hi some help please.. I'm looking for an outdoor cat run for 2 kittens. They are going to be indoor cats but want some outdoor space for them to be in.
I have no idea what I'm looking for! Size? Height? On grass or patio??
Any advice welcome pls. Thanks

We have one which is just wood frames and strong chicken wire. We bought the panels off someone else and stuck them to the back of our house. You can cat proof your garden instead if you have good boundaries which I think is easier and looks better tbh.

Size/height/grass question depends on what the back of your house is like! Unless you don't want it attached to your house.

We have net round our fence and let Ozzy play out in the garden. He loves it.

Ok so garden is big enough to accommodate something... I was thinking of a run along the side rather than from the house?

Train them to walk on a lead!

I'm currently out with my indoor cat 😸.

Full height is nice as makes it easy to get inside with them and for cleaning if necessary. Raise it off the ground slightly if on grass or the wood will rot. Also handy to raise off the ground on patio as easier to sweep leaves under and out.

Doesn't need to be massive and it's quite nice to have a size that can be moved around for added interest for the cats.

I've always had them - either full or half height. In my first house I got a local handyman to do it (just wood and smooth chicken wire, big enough to walk around in, I would say 6X10 feet). My current one is bigger because the frame was already present and takes up the whole (small, paved) garden.I'm about to move again and its done apparently but still waiting on the pics I'm supposed to be sent! I think they're a great solution and only wish I'd had one for my first cat whom I lost. But then he was a male and loved to roam whereas the girls are quite happy with a limited outdoor space. Bibi does strop when its time to come in though.

I'm fascinated! Are they connected to the house somehow or do you just carry the cats out?

This is mine, it covers the whole patio area.

We cat proofed the whole garden so Harry can come and go as he pleases and can sit outside with us.

My first one was exactly like user's. Similar garden too. Current one (for the next 10 days until we move) is like this.

*NB - Illegal hybrid wolfdog is not mine!!

Fuzzy we have both types Blush

The cats do prefer the one that's attached to the house, though.
