The litter tray

She has gone

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 08/06/2017 18:57

Puss was put to sleep at 5:10pm

She was 22 years old

My heart is breaking

My hard biker husband is in pieces

She is now under the bench in the garden next to her sister who passed away three years ago at the age of 19.

Puss was the best cat ever - she didn't have a nasty bone in her body. She was surround by small children ( I am a childminder) and she loved being fussed and picked up by toddlers. She loved curry - the spicier the better. She slept with her hooman - her hooman has autism and global delay and is only a couple of years older.

Her litter tray and feed bowls are still in situ

Can't bring ourselves to sort them out yet

Can't stop crying

She was only a fucking cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@inaclearingstandsaboxer sending hugs. They're not ever "just cats" they're a part of our family. I've got three cats and a dog, but my two old cats have been there for me in some of the loneliest and saddest of times, quietly padding their paws on my stomach or head butting me gently.
When they go I will be utterly heartbroken and dread the day I no longer hear them sauntering towards the food bowls, collars jingling or watch the, stretch in the sun.

Have a dam good cry, fellow cat lovers orders 💐🐱 xxx

She was not 'only a cat'.

She was family. She was loved and she loved you. There is no 'only' when you love.

She wasn't "only a cat" she was a friend. I am so sorry for you. We had our much loved dog put to sleep this year, she was 6, and we're still upset. I saw this at the pet cemetery - "To the world, she was just a dog - to me - she was the world" And I think that sums up how we feel about our beloved animals. Hugs to you both xxx

She wasn't just a cat - she was my last baby - I held her as she was pts and I told her how much we loved her and. Thanked her for being our friend.

We have buried her in a box filled with her treats, her bowl and peony petals

Her name was Petal

Aka Petalia Petalum

Aka Petsy Bubbles

She was never just a cat, you did your best for her and she did for you. She was family and special and that's as it should be.

I'm glad she's in your garden, I've been known to have a chat to mine. We've buried ours in their favourite sunny spot with some cat biscuits for the journey. If it was good enough for the Egyptians...

Mourn her, remember the good times and tell stories of her awesomeness.

So sorry for your loss Flowers. 22 is an amazing age to have reached; Petal must have been very happy and healthy.

Never ever is a cat "just a cat". I have loved and adored every one of mine, they have provided me with affection, companionship when I was single and entertainment at times too. My current two are both rescues and the affection I get from both is fantastic. It's like they know they have a good life here.

It's hard but try and keep in mind that she had a fantastic life with you, more love than many animals ever know. Give yourself time to heal and when you feel ready bequeath your love to another animal in need.

Not 'just a cat', never 'just a cat', rather a much loved member of your family. Mourn her, grieve for her, cry for her. It all shows how much you loved her. People who don't grieve over the loss of a loved pet, shouldn't have them in the first place.
Flowers for you 🐠 for Puss.

Oh I remember your posts from earlier in the week. I'm so sorry, I hoped she would have a little longer, 22 is a fantastic age and I'm sure you have lots of lovely memories as she was clearly well loved.
It hurts when they go as they are such a big part of the family not "just a cat". Take care and RIP beautiful Petal Flowers

Absolutely not just a cat, but a very special very much adored cat. She obviously enjoyed a lovely long life with you which is something to be proud of.

Petal was a beautiful cat. You must have been a great cat guardian for Petal to get to such a ripe old age.
Grieve for as long as it takes. So sorry for you. How horrible.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers

I saw a picture of a gravestone recently, for a cat named Dewey, and the quote on it was beautiful. Something like

"He was only a cat"
But he was human enough to be a great comfort in hours of loneliness and pain.

22 years of comfort and companionship from Petal is so wonderful. How lucky you both were to be in each other's lives for so long.
