Have you ruined your cat's life?

I've realised I've ruined grumpy cat's life sad She was my no.1 (PFT) and I've brought her nothing but misery. My crimes include:

Getting married (she disappeared for a month in protest)
Moving house (sunk into a depression and didn't get out of bed for a month)
Adopting another cat (hated him for eight years until he died)
Making her go outside (sometimes in THE RAIN)
Rescuing a little kitten (complete nervous breakdown followed by temporary eating disorder)

I apologise to her every day for the torment I have put her through; I sometimes think she may have forgiven me as she sleeps on my head every night and purrs/growls when I have the audacity to move grin

I take his mice away....

SnickersWasAHorse Tue 18-Apr-17 21:28:17

I don't feed her endlessly.
I cuddle her when she is sleeping.
I sleep when she wants feeding.

FlyingSquid Tue 18-Apr-17 21:29:04

We got a dog...

FlyingSquid Tue 18-Apr-17 21:29:48

And we laugh at her when she tries to hide to stalk birds (she's white and fluffy and falls off things).

I refuse to open the windows when he doesn't feel like squeezing through the cat flap.

Justmadeperfectflapjacks Tue 18-Apr-17 21:33:31

We put a cat flap in the utility room and now they have to spend their days sharing a room with ddogs. .
When they come in the house at tea time ds disturbs their birdy dreams by tickling the hairs in their ears....
They don't get veg every night or rice pudding. . Just cat food. .
Am currently training them to ring the cat helpline. . .

You are all very cruel angry

PFT doesn't know yet my mother is coming to stay next month. Previous visits have left her licking her wounds (mum, not cat..)

Wolfiefan Tue 18-Apr-17 21:43:39

We got a fucking enormous puppy.
I confiscate their prey.
I shut one in the car the other day and the alarm went off.
Tonight they were wormed.
I'm going to hell.

bigtapdancingpimp Tue 18-Apr-17 21:46:25

FlyingSquid you laugh at your cat? shock shock shock

Wolfiefan Tue 18-Apr-17 21:47:37

We used to have a Burmese. My dad laughed at her. She ripped him open from wrist to elbow. Mind you she was a good judge of character that cat.
NEVER laugh at a cat. It's suicide!

ilovechocolates Tue 18-Apr-17 21:50:25

I'm doomed! I laugh at my pair all the time confused eg the little one has been out in the rain at the weekend and walked up to the big one and shook rainwater at her. I giggled...and got the death stare off the big one

Theworldisfullofidiots Tue 18-Apr-17 21:53:11

We got a dog too......
And take their mice away.
Do let them sleep on me though....

user1492080882 Tue 18-Apr-17 21:53:58

I had a baby...

I think I win grin

Trustyourself2 Tue 18-Apr-17 21:57:14

I brushed a load of grime onto her outside today, as I didn't see her coming up behind me when I was cleaning out the bin area - and she'd just finished washing!

I brought her in early this evening because she was late back last night.

I won't let her past the kitchen because she frightens the life out of my other girl.

I save all the birds she catches, so she doesn't bother now.

shouldwestayorshouldwego Tue 18-Apr-17 21:57:53

We tempt dboycat in with food and then shut the door so he can't go clubbing with all his cool cat mates but has to spend his evening tormenting his sister who would rather he was out so she can snooze on the sofa in peace. We are practising on the cats for when the teenage years strike the children!!

RubbishMantra Tue 18-Apr-17 22:00:54

No lap allowance. When MCat tries to sit on me, and I won't let him because he strikes like a snake for no reason at all. Still get the guilts though... Yet too many loving scars from the beast to allow Lap Privileges!

On the upside, he likes the 80s synth music that I introduced him to. Makes him purr.

bigtapdancingpimp Tue 18-Apr-17 22:02:46

I hope you never laugh at your baby or your baby NEVER ever laughs user grin <---- that's not me laughing BTW (in case cat reads this)

shockshockhorror Tue 18-Apr-17 22:07:54

Totally ruined his life when I had a baby. Didn't speak to me for a full year, and then another baby arrived. He's just about forgiven me (but he does try to kill me by hiding on the stairs in the dark so maybe not!).

Haudyerwheesht Tue 18-Apr-17 22:10:53

Oh yes most definitely. She was ours from a tiny little runt of the litter kitten and was our PFB. Since then

We've moved house
Had a baby who grew into a toddler and then a child who makes noise
Had another baby who also grew and is even noisier
Got a dog
And sometimes we do, I'm ashamed to say, go on holiday and leave her with the grandparents who provide endless food and cuddles but also have another inferior cat. She always punishes us by not looking at us for a few days when we come home. She will eat all proffered treats though for she is not a martyr.

HemanOrSheRa Tue 18-Apr-17 22:13:59

I don't stop the rain. Pip in particular will go from door, to window, to another window looking at me - 'Make it stop, you idiot. Why are you not making it GO AWAY at this window you damn fool? Why is it raining here as well as there?' Very cruel of me. I also laugh at her when she does it which doesn't help.

Frankie, bless him, is like a great long legged teenage boy who has no idea if his own size grin. He often rolls clean off his bed on the cat tree when he turns around/over. I laugh at this too. I know I am wicked and will pay for this one day.

RickOShay Tue 18-Apr-17 22:14:05

I bring them in at night. No rampaging for my little milky puddings. The children ruin their lives more though by picking them up ALL the time. I do buy them dreamies and put my electric blanket on during the day to tempt them onto my bed, but I don't think my pathetic attempts to ingratiate myself with them really cut the mustard. Should ignore them more but I am in love with them. Unrequited of course.

user1492080882 Tue 18-Apr-17 22:15:22

Since having a baby, one DCat brings vermin into the house and deliberately gives them to the dog, who then starts an eat/vomit/re-eat/vomit cycle which only ends when I'm quick enough to clean it up. DCat watches and smiles.

Ollivander84 Tue 18-Apr-17 22:20:33

I don't cuddle him or carry him in a papoose 24/7. And occasionally I stroke another cat shock

NotTheQueen Tue 18-Apr-17 22:22:20

Girl cat looked lonely, so we got boy kitten so she would have a pal do zoomies up and down the stairs at 3am. Boy kitten steals her food, so we have to lock him in the kitchen during feeding time. Boy kitten is also a lazy fat bastard in training, so sits on the couch watching her play. Girl cat looks at her humans with a "You went to the rescue and came back with a faulty kitten"
The biggest failure of all is boy kitten deciding girl cats beloved daddy is his, so boy kitten snuggles to daddy and glares if girl cat comes near. She has to make do with moi
