The litter tray

Dry food only

Hi. Is anyone's cat / kitten on dry food only? Our kitten was sick a lot when we first got her. She would wolf down her wet food and then vomit it up immediately. Some days were worse than others but about a month ago she vomited after every meal for two days and I worried she wasn't keeping down enough nutrition. I started giving her just dry kitten food and she's not been sick since. She looks healthier to me too. Is it okay just to be on a dry diet so long as it's a complete food one? She's on Purina Proplan Junior and always has fresh water.

My cat just has dry food - royal canin sensible. She was often sick on wet food. She has fresh water available, the vet always comments on her shiny coat Smile

All our cats only have dry food. I checked with our vet when we got them as kittens and she said no problem as long as plenty of water available. People are always commenting on how shiny and healthy our cats look. We feed IAMS cat food, bought online in 10kg bags (much cheaper!).

Thanks for the replies! I feel her coat is shinier too, probably because she is keeping her food down. The Scottish SPCA who hand reared her from a week old, told me she might have a sensitive tummy because she didn't have enough time on mother's milk xx

Yes. Mine have Royal Canin Persian. Having to get one of them to have wet food at the minute because she's broken her jaw and it's a nightmare as they don't like it!
