Cat sitter questions!

I have to have spinal surgery Sad
Apparently it's quite a short hospital stay so maybe 48hrs. I feel Ollie would not like a cattery?!
How do I find a good one, and is it best to go with twice daily visits? With it only being a short stay I can throw a little money at it so twice a day is affordable. I need someone who will actually fuss him a bit rather than just feed and leave

Sorry you need surgery.

Harry's cat sitter comes in twice a day when we are away and we pay £18 a day. I found her by Googling but it turned out she used to foster for the rescue he came from and is a vet nurse so I got lucky there, especially with his Lordship's issues! if you don't know anyone who uses a cat sitter it might be worth asking your vet if they have any recommendations.

I'd do it but I think you are too far away!!

Look at local catteries and see if they do home visits. That's how I found mine.

The best cat sitter we ever had was from Cat in a Flat website. She obviously came to visit before we went away and got a grilling. Humphrey attacked her hand while she was here and she didn't flinch. She asked if it was ok to spend longer than 20/230 mins as she was a student and liked having somewhere quiet to study - she was marvellous.

We also got a recommendation from a local Faceboook page and I was less impressed. I think personal recommendations from people who know what you're like with your cats are the best. If you're in SW London I might be able to help Smile

Luckily I have found one! The cats protection rehoming woman Grin she is well aware of all his quirks and happy to cat sit and cuddle him
