Fattycat's mouth won't close

Fattycat can't close her mouth. I think she's yawned and it's locked. Threw some clothes in and straight out the house after a chase to catch her. Vet took her straight off me in case she was in distress. She's not though. I her and Snorg have a plot to kill me!!

They've kept her in for x rays under sedation. She doesn't seem bothered by it though.

It was but she didn't seem distressed by it. Enough to make me leave the house in yesterday's clothes and without a shower and breakfast though!! Things I never ever do! Supposed to be going to the installation of a friend as parish priest about 70 miles away tonight but will have to play it by ear I think.

Only for a few hours while the x Ray her to see what she's done. They don't have staff on site overnight so if she needs to stay ill take her to the hospital Snorg went to as I also registered her as a patient at the same time. Their emergency care is much cheaper than the emergency vet my vets use.

Yes but they close at 8 and I won't be back before 2230 at the earliest hopefully should hear soon though. If she was unwell or distressed obviously I wouldn't but hopefully she just needs unlocking.

It sounds as if she has some sort of weakness there right enough. But it might go at any time? Eg - in two months time?

I guess the vet will advise.

Your cat's have really been in the wars lately, are they plotting to bankrupt you?! Hope she's OK, good to hear she doesn't seem distressed.

Fortunately they are both insured. Am still on edge about Snorg, even though she's fine. She still gets her chin prodded to check for lumps. Just remembered that Fatty was fine at around 7 ish when she sneezed on me!

Isn't it! I'm beginning to have second thoughts after this!! (Joking) just googled locked jaws in cats. Apparently it's very rare but Persians are more prone to it than other breeds. Usually caused by yawning. Which I think is the case here.

Not that I'm aware of. Her face is smooshy but not as much as Snorg. And she doesn't have breathing problems. She has runny eyes instead.

Oh, Toddler! You're not having the easiest time of late are you? Hopefully this will be the last of it. Thank good gravy they're with you though. Seems like you rescued the girls just in time.

Yes Cozie, imagine if they'd been left with their previous owner? I sincerely doubt the girls would've been given the proper treatment...

It was dislocated. God knows how she managed that. Got her home and gave her some pate and she scoffed it straight down. Decided she was ok so made it to my friends induction. But feel guiltily for leaving her.

It can happen - it shouldn't but it can. (That's why I queried her existing head bone/joint structure because some Persians - from 'breeding' practices - have one that may not be as sound as it ought to be and she's only young if I recall?) No need to feel guilty anyway. She's fine now isn't she?

I suspect Snorgmaiden, she wanted Fatty out of the way so she got her turn at having you all to herself...
