We've had our rescue since November. He's a lovely 7 year old. When we brought him home with us he was asleep on the sofa the same day, settled really quickly. He is a bit noisy at night butbi shut him out of my room until about 7 when he comes in and sleeps with me. I'm going to my Dad's for the weekend. He's half an hour drive away. Do you think it would be ok to take my cat with me? He's so chilled I'm sure it will be fine and it saves me having to ask my neighbour to pop in?

We've taken ours away before and he loves it, he's more relaxed and friendly when he's away! We never let him out though as I'd worry he'd get spooked and not come back.

That's great thank you! I'm really looking forward to it now! I won't let him out and Dad has a utility room so I can put him there with all his stuff for the first couple of hours.

In general, cats don't like to leave home & they're better off staying there. However, some are more adventurous & relaxed about life, and yours sounds like one of those! You should try & then you'll know for sure. Be prepared to drive him home in the middle of the night though, if he doesn't settle! Have a good weekend.

It should be ok, but you need to be sure he can't get out of the house. So no access to open windows for example.
