The litter tray

I didn't think I was a cat person

But it turns out I bloody well am.

DP is a cat person and has twice managed to break me down into eventually getting a cat. Our first stole my heart and then deserted us to live with a lady down the road from our old house when DC1 was born. After much effort to try and settle him back with us we gave in and agreed that he should stay where he was happy. Luckily the lady is lovely enough to keep in touch now we've moved and let us know how he's doing but I still miss him like mad.

I vowed never again and stuck to my guns for years until last summer. I agreed we could get a cat but only if said cat matched my exact requirements. All the requirements did have good reason, but I never in a million years thought he would manage to find one that met all of them. It took him two weeks. We adopted her last July. She is amazing with the kids, she is absolutely bloody beautiful, she fits right in to our little family and she is most definitely my cat. I love her nearly as much as the kids.

Have I been in denial my whole life about being a cat person or are these cats just my furry little soulmates?

Welcome to the crazy cat lady club!

After moving in together just over 2 years ago, I was desperate for a pet and knew we didn't have time for a dog so pleaded with my other half to get a cat who absolutely despised them!
After 2 month he gave in and we welcomed our first cat, fast forward 2 years and we now have 2 cats, both of which my partner adores and loves the bones off of them both although he is still adamant he hates all other cats apart from ours!

Wait till you want another, I thought one would be enough but after seeing how much I loved my first, I was desperate for another! I'd have so many more but we've opted for a baby instead! 😊

Babies are ace too in my experience but I always knew I wanted them Grin.

I am still adamant at the moment that I only love our cats and wouldn't have another unless boy cat ever came home but I can't rule it out. It's not even a kitten thing, boy cat won me over with his cute kitten appeal but the beauty we have now was nearly 4 when we adopted her and I loved her instantly. I think I've gone soft Shock

Both! Grin

Cats manage to purr their way in to many hearts that think they wouldn't. DH is "not a cat person", I snigger quietly to myself when I hear him chatting away to his "beautiful boy".

I blame my dad. He's always hated cats. Apart from mine apparently, he wanted to hate them but they even managed to win him over Grin.

One of my friends was adamant he didn't want a cat. He now has two and he adores them! He always said he wanted a dog but now he has decided dogs smell! It's been lovely seeing the transition to cat slave.

6 months ago I would not have even thought of getting a Cat, I was a Dog Person and that was that.

We got 2 cats from CPL in October and now I am a fully paid up Cat Lady Blush. My DH was laughing at me the other day as I was explaining how much I love the small of their breath Blush.

It doesn't always work, we're three years into cat ownership and although I'm very fond of ours I am still decidedly not a cat person and would happily go back to being pet-free if the worst was to happen. I kind of wish I had become cat-person, but don't think it's ever going to happen now.

I have always known I was a cat person and waited years years to get one as an adult. DH finally relented and we went to the shelter on my birthday to get one. He said I always told him I was a cat person but never realized the depth of my cat obsession Grin. We are now a cat obesessed house.
