Why is so much cat food incomplete?

I'm new to this but mine loves the Encore range it's so expensive yet it's not complete. She's not a huge kibble fan so does that mean Encore is extra like a snack? What makes in complete is it the Taurine in it? Can that be bought and added or is there a lot more to it that that?

You could try some Applaws dry biscuits maybe?
They are high protein.
I gradually added them to my cats diet & she loves them. £11 online but £20 instore.

My two cats love Encore as well. I usually only give them it a couple of times a week and in between times give them Sheba sachets. Luckily one of mine also loves his Royal Canin biscuits and has these down at all times as he's a grazer. The other is not as keen, hence the Sheba. I am not sure what the difference is between the Encore and Sheba to be honest so will watch this post with interest!

Encore is a complementary food so only has chicken rice and water, so you have to feed them dry food also.

I refuse to feed "supermarket " brands as they are full of sugar and cereal (unnecessary and bad for them) plus only 4-6% meat

Best alternative is waitrose tinned sardines in spring water or boiling up chicken legs or froZen fish, actually cheapet per kilo than sachets!

If you really cant be arsed then pets at home purely fish sachets are as close to making it yourself but cheaper than encore.

I do tinned sardines am and cooked chicken or fish pm along with high protein grain free dry.

Grain free dry: arden grange is very good and not expensive

Also ocado sell encore and vets kitchen dry, both grain and crap free

Sainsbury's finest is a good own brand one at 50%. Tescos had a good one as well but I haven't seen it for awhile. She had Encore when she was ill and is now addictive there's so many different products in their range I wonder why none of it's complete

It's cheaper to feed chicken thighs or chicken breast, fish etc, than the tins of Encore/Applaws etc. They are not complete, as they don't contain added vitamins, so need to be fed alongside a dry-food diet, but Thrive wet food is complete and is similar to Encore.
