Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

Oh no, I hope this is just infection. When can you ring?.

Wellscrewyouyear10 · 15/02/2017 21:56

Oh no! Hand and paw hold!

cozietoesie · 15/02/2017 22:06

Good luck to all, Toddler.

Purpleknickers · 15/02/2017 22:08

Keeping all 12 paws in this furry household crossed for you and snorgmaiden

DramaAlpaca · 15/02/2017 22:10

Oh poor puss, I hope she's OK.

Potentialmadcatlady · 15/02/2017 22:11

Paw hold from here..

Vinorosso74 · 15/02/2017 22:34

Poor furry girl. Hope all is ok with her.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/02/2017 22:44

Thanks. She's very dehydrated and has rubbish blood pressure. The initial bloods don't indicate lymphoma but she has one enlarged lymph node in her neck which is odd. Her tummy is very distended and nothing moving. So the vet wants to do a laparotomy to see what is going on. Gave me the option of doing it tonight when she's stable or take her to my own vet in the morning. Asked her to do it tonight if possible. She is not ruling out lymphoma but thinks there is an obstruction of some sort. Can't believe she's got so poorly so quickly. But glad I trusted my instinct that something was very wrong.

Apparently she is also very fat. Oops. She gets weighed every time she goes to the vet and they've never mentioned it.

Wishing her a speedy recovery! Flowers

cozietoesie · 15/02/2017 22:57

When will she phone tonight?

Toddlerteaplease · 15/02/2017 23:05

She said she wouldn't unless it's very serious. She'll phone in the morning. Need to pick her up at 7.30 and take her to my vets. Unless she goes to theatre very late. If I wake up I will phone though.

All the best. Try to get some rest.

isadorable · 16/02/2017 00:33

Hope you're getting some rest. Poor puss, but she's in the best place.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2017 03:29

Vet just phoned. She's had surgery. No cancer found but blood supply to her intestines very poor and her Pancreas is inflamed. She's on ketamine and morphine and her lactic acidosis is getting higher. The vet is very worried. Sad

Sorry to hear the news isn't better. What a worry for you. Flowers

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2017 03:53

Going to see her first thing. If her bloods are not improving by then and I think she's suffering I think I will have to ask them to put her to sleep. The vet said that she is in pain. And I can't bear that thought.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2017 03:54

Just can't believe how quickly she's gone down hill. She was absolutely fine Monday. Night. / Tuesday morning.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/02/2017 06:40

Do they know what's caused the inflammation?

That poor cats had a rubbish start, she really doesn't deserve to be so poorly now she has a happy life with you.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2017 06:58

I know. Just going to go and see her now. Apparently she's very fat. I knew she is a big chunky but not that bad. My own vets have never mentioned it. It is such a comfort that I know she had a lovely life with me and she knows she is loved.

Hoping the outcome is good for you and pusskins Flowers

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2017 08:05

Just been to see her, fully prepared to have to have her put to sleep. But she's much better. Bloods getting back to normal. Stoned on ketamine and fentanyl but much brighter and interested in her surroundings. She jumped off the table and tried her best to escape.
