Is this a flea bite?

Fat cat has three little scabby lumps. Can't pick them off and they're on his bum/base of his tail
He's been very obliging letting me poke them

That looks like the mark a tick leaves once it's fallen off to me.

But then I can't see the picture clearly so was really going on the description. Icequeen could well be right.

For fleas use Advantage, Stronghold or Advocate.

Do you have a flea comb? That the easy way to check for fleas.

Look under his arms, any nice warm hidden places on his body are there tiny black specks on his fur, can you brush him to check, if so tis the blooming fleas.

He has some white flecks in his fur. This could be dandruff but could also be a bit of flea dirt. Do you have a comb for him or a nitcomb for one of the children? If you do, comb his fur and collect it on some damp tissue. If it turns red, he had fleas.

I have a flea comb somewhere - will give it a go once I can get near him again!
He's treated with advantage on time, to the day
Tick unlikely - he ventures out onto the path and that's it, no grass/bushes/trees etc literally onto the concrete then home again within seconds

Doesn't sound like fleas then. Or could be bites from fleas outside but he's not harbouring them in his fur because the advantage is killing them.

If they don't clear up, I'd get him down the vet. He could have an allergy to something or they could be growths of some kind (probably benign but best to get checked out).

I will give it a week or two - he's literally just back from the vets after a tooth root removal! He does over groom but I don't think he could reach where they are. Unless he has been bitten like you said, he is known to have a flea allergy hence the v routine treatment

Looks like ticks. He's an outdoor cat I assume? I have had cats with fleas but never noticed actual bite marks, even the one with flea allergy. She went scabby and scaley but no actual bite marks. Ticks leave little lumps like that. Get a tick twister just in case and check him over for any attached ones.

There seems to be a little hole in the middle of the lump, unless my eyes are deceiving me, which is why I think it may be from a tick. The hole is where the feeder tube would have been.

I grew up in flea-infested households & never found anything like that on our (flea-infested, entirely white cats). I can't believe it's fleas, some other sore.
I guess I'd just keep an eye on it make sure it didn't get worse.

That's the best pic I could get. He's 90% indoor, goes out to sit on the concrete then comes back in. Doesn't roam since he terrified himself getting stuck for 8 days

There is three, all in a vertical line
I've squeezed them and they feel like a lump and don't seem sore. Have stopped poking poor cat now as he's giving me "go AWAY" face

Flea bite marks are microscopic so not visible to naked eye. This is a self trauma mark flea allergy is one cause, however, many cats also have other allergies. If it does not improve it gets worse get the vet to check and may need treatment.
Cats are often allergic to house dust mites when we do allergy testing.

He's def got a flea allergy, been fine with everything else. He is neurotic, noisy and liable to over groom so it's possible he's just had a good go at grooming and done it himself. Has previously ripped fur out until he's bled so...
