Constant begging for Dreamies

Anyway.

My cat's life has been taken over by bloody Dreamies. His world revolves around them. I (foolishly) introduced him to them about three months ago, and he is totally obsessed. I only have to rise from my chair for him to be yowling and begging. He is constantly standing by the cupboard where I keep them.

I have another cat, and he's totally not bothered. If he gets Dreamies, he gets them. Otherwise he doesn't give them much thought.

Should I make Cat 1 go cold turkey? It's getting extremely annoying! I love the creature but it's starting to wear me down!

Mines the same. She doesn't ask me anymore because I'm mean my husband however is not. I don't mind occasionally but not everyday.

Mines the same, she's 5 so has managed fine up till now without dreamies in her life but I stupidly picked up a pack a few months back and now every time I walk through the hall she's yowling for them.

Cold turkey, I fear. Decide on a 'special word' for them and only give them out when you say the word. And that, rarely. (The craving might be useful at some point.)

Try a Lick-e-Lix and the Dreamies will pale into insignificance

There are some that are even worse than Dreamies but I can't remember what they were called. CharlieAlphaTango gets Aldi or Wilko treats as a way of getting him to eat the rest of the bowl only now.

Mine is addicted to them, I put his food in his bowl and he looks at me expecting Dreamies. Very weirdly I got a free pack through the post today via Nectar/Sainsbury.

He has "sit" and "paw" nailed due to his adoration of the cheese ones

Now oddly stable cat won't touch them. Which is more off given she will draw blood for leek and potato soup

Get a treat ball or maze so they have to work for them.
Problem I have is that little-cat likes playing, gets them out but is more interested in playing so leaves them lying there. Big-cat can't be bothered to get them out, but will willingly eat all the ones that little/cat leaves behind. Little-cat walks along later wondering where all her treats have gone

#crackforcats Sorry but it is! Mine is indifferent to catnip but those treats. Gosh loud howling. I dont keep them in the house now.

Did anyone get the little mouse toy that was being given away in special packs? I knew my cats intelligence was particularly low, when they couldn't even get the dreemies out of it. It sat there for ages untouched! I've never seen anything hoovered up so quick as Lik e Lix. ( expect the yoghurt or liver flavour, that went untouched!)

Yes. I pushed it to show him how it worked. He ate the dreamie then looked at me like "push it again hooman"

My two can empty the mouse in about 10 seconds, they are very adept at it. Thry can also rip open packs of Dreamies if I inadvertently leave one on the side. I only buy a pack every now and then.

Mine got one of the "weeble" dispensers in his Christmas stocking. Despite being a bright cat, he can't work it. Instead he has trained me to sit on the floor, swiping endlessly at the thing muttering "you hit it, the treat comes out", while he observed studiously and hoovers up the treats.
He can open a door latch, he understood a cat flap instantly, he's not stupid, but this just seems beneath him, for some reason!

Whatever you do don't buy lick-e-lix. You will be swapping one addiction for another.

So glad to hear that CatNiMao1 is not the only Dreamies fiend. Whoever invented them must be making a mint.

I'll see how things go, and think about going cold turkey if it gets insufferable.

I'm a bit of a soft touch with my cats lately, as I relocated them from overseas and feel I ought to "apologise" to them for the trauma of the journey!

Just looked at the packet which says feed up to 20 Dreamiest per day. Hmmm. Is that the feline equivalent of huge blocks of chocolate which say four squares per serving, when everyone scoffs at least half?
We probably average over 20...and I dare not leave them lying around otherwise he runs off with the packet in his mouth and rips it open.
