We have adopted a lovely wee girl, was hand reared as her mother was run over by a car at approximately 5 days old. She is now coming up to 6months and we have a problem with ongoing biting, this can be when she's picked up/stroked/cuddled Sad. She also attacks our dog at every possible opportunity, leaping at her as she walks passed, and is regularly taking out chunks of fur.

She is being spayed on Friday.

It's getting me down a bit as she is lovely in many ways, she just won't stop biting. Any ideas apart from nit picking her up/not stroking her/walking away/squealing?

TIA

They do this Grin

It'll calm down as she gets older. Mine were monsters as teenagers, and chilled out about the year old stage, but the pouncing, biting, grabbing your wrist/toes..... it's just play and cat normality.

yy it's normal. Unfortunately. Has to do with teething.

Give her things she can bite! Ours had a feathery toy on a stick. Also play with her at a distance! Laser pointer for pets (mind eyes!) is good. Kong kickeroo is good for them to murder! Scrunched up newspaper into a ball.

This is normal. It will pass.

She's a beautiful looking girl.

She's a naughty torty! Stroppy madam. Do feel sorry for the dog though-she is so patient and never bites back bless her.

She's beautiful! Torties have strong personalities (apparently). Gratuitous pic of our Torbie girl.

Ozzy is a bitey little monkey too. He's 6 months. He's better since he had the snip, but he still gets a bit carried away a couple of times a day.
Good job he's cute!

When my kitten bit I just bit her back. She soon learned.

Gorgeous kitties! Yes, have heard that torties have tortitude! Her operation is today and she is currently bemoaning her fate as can't have breakfast! Fingers crossed it helps settle the biting!

Mines a boy and he does same. He is about 6 months now so I reckon once he has been neutered next week he will start calming down
