How long for fur to grow back after it was shaved off

DodoCat had to have stitches before Christmas and so had all his hind quarter shave.

When should he be all furry again? (He's a short hair.)

In my experience it takes 2-3 months to be completely back to normal length again.

The in-between stage is very cute though when the baby fur starts growing back! My cat had her entire back end shaved for an op and she looked like she'd forgotten to wear pants. Grin

A groomer shaved my long haired girls tummies. I was not pleased. Took about 8-9 months to grow back. And they wouldn't lie spread eagled on their backs because they were too cold.

Claudicat had top of one leg shaved and now looks as if she's wearing a fur boot. Seems to take ages to grow back.

Ours was shaved for an ultrasound then op last year-both sides and her belly. The baby fur grew in quite quickly then it seemed to stop then all if a sudden she was furry again. It took 3-4 months before she looked normal.

Ours had blood tests last year and had their chest/neck shaved. It took about 6 weeks until it no longer looked noticeable and about another 2-3 weeks until it was totally back to normal.

This is him and his big baldy backside. I do wonder what his thinks about it, maybe "feel a little nippy round the back these days"

I was worried ours would get sunburn (it was summer).
I'm trying to think of the name of the poster who has Obie the cat, a large Maine Coone and he got shaved as he was so matted. The before and after pictures were something!
